Let Us Tell You A Story: Part 8

September 23, 2013 By jbmumofone 13 Comments

Did you ever play consequences as a child? You write a line of a story, fold it so that it is hidden, pass it to a friend and they write a line and so on. Finally you piece it altogether and see what you have created.

Well this is kind of, a little bit, no, not really at all, like that.

The fantabulous Laura from Tired Mummy of Two challenged a group of bloggers to collectively come up with a story. She began our tale here, and each day another blogger takes up the literary baton.

One of my favourite bloggers, Stacey from Five’s a Fellowship, left us on a complete cliffhanger yesterday.

Here is what happens next:

Laura’s heart began to race as she awaited his request.  She knew she shouldn’t be feeling like this, couldn’t be feeling like this, not so soon after Robert’s death.  She could only imagine what the villagers must think of her after last nights drunken antics.  The merry widow indeed.  If Mrs Bainbridge next door, the veritable nosey neighbour, caught sight of a man leaving her home this morning her reputation would surely never recover.

As she deliberated over how to remove this man quietly from her cottage, and away from prying eyes, Tony continued to make himself at home.  As he reached for the coffee cups she caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a recent scar along the back of his neck, pink and jagged against his smooth, tanned skin, disappearing beneath the collar of his checkered shirt. Fascinated, and intrigued by it’s possible cause, she almost reached out to trace it with her finger.

As he turned their eyes met and she quickly looked away, embarrassed that she had been caught staring. The heat began to rise in her cheeks once more.

“So, just what is it that you want from me?” she asked defiantly.

Tony smiled. His eyes remained locked upon hers as he reached into his pocket and placed an object upon the kitchen table. Laura’s breath caught in her throat. There was no mistaking it. She had chosen it herself just last Christmas, and had even had it engraved.

It was Robert’s watch.

So who is Tony?  Why does he have Robert’s watch?  What happened to Robert? What will happen to Laura?

Argh!  I cannot wait to find out.

To see what happens next be sure to check in tomorrow when the awesome Angie from Cakes. Photos. Life takes up the tale here.  If you wish to read along from the very beginning visit Tired Mummy of Two here and follow each link in turn.

Is this part of Simon’s plan??? And what’s Tony doing with Robert’s watch? Has he been up all night snooping around? This is the plot with most twist and turns I’ve ever known, not sure how I’m going to do my bit

Welcome!

Jbmumofone is written by me, jbmumofone, and this blog is my baby. Although clearly I didn’t think this name through because I’m now a mum of two actual babies.

I blog because I love to write, and for sanity’s sake, and have been blogging since August 2011. So why not dig on in and explore?
