Pretty Pots: Easy Kids Craft

July 20, 2014 By jbmumofone 2 Comments

Ok so here is how to NOT make a pretty pot, at least if you do it our way. This has to go down as a major craft fail on our part but with smaller beads it might actually work. The inspiration of this craft came firmly from C-Beebies Mister Maker, during a thunderstorm, and facing an entire day stuck inside…we did what we had to folks! And the boy LOVED it, which is what counts. Right?

Toddler Craft How to make a pretty pot

So, if you too want to own a ‘pretty pot’ like ours this is what you will need:

pretty pot materials

  • One empty jar
  • Mod podge
  • Glue/paint brushes
  • Beads…smaller than ours, or sequins etc
  • Fairly deep tray.

And here is what to do:

  1. Soak the label off your jar.
  2. Cover liberally with Mod Podge, minus the upper rim.
  3. Sprinkle on your beads/sequins/glitter/buttons
  4. Allow to dry
  5. Cover top of lid and repeat.

Pretty Pots

FYI  pom poms DO NOT STICK and our beads were a bit big.

I am sure you will do better and the boy had a tonne of fun so totally worth it.

Crafty crafty eh?

Welcome!

Jbmumofone is written by me, jbmumofone, and this blog is my baby. Although clearly I didn’t think this name through because I’m now a mum of two actual babies.

I blog because I love to write, and for sanity’s sake, and have been blogging since August 2011. So why not dig on in and explore?
