Ok, so it would seem that the fates are conspiring for me to get fit this year. First, the wonderful folks at Next gave me the lovely Davina for Next gear to try out.
Then, the two people I know who actually HATE RUNNING MORE THAN ME, namely my lovely mum and the wonderful Cat from Yellow Days, BOTH suggested running the Race for Life with me. This is on my Day Zero Project list to do again so am keen to get it ticked off involved.
Then, yesterday, my lovely friend Pam who used to drag me out running in order to get me in shape for my wedding, but sadly moved away shortly after, is back in town and keen to put me through my paces again. OUCH.
So, I have all the necessary, and super stylish, Davina for Next gear, a running buddy and a goal in sight. Thats me all out of excuses then. Dammit.
Well the lovely Pammy is in MUCH better shape than me so before our first outing this Sunday I decided to have a little trial run on my own. Not far mind. Just round the block a bit. And tonight was the night.
I was yet to try on the Davina for Next capri pants, but when I did was delighted to find that concealed in the waistband is a small zip pocket. Perfect for carrying your house key and eliminating the need to stuff it in your shoes or socks or concocting weird wrist-straps from hairbands. HOORAY. They are also extremely comfortable, tight-fitting and supportive, reducing my ass-wobbling fears considerably, and even have glow-in-the-dark strips for evening joggers. You can just about make this out here…
Thank heavens she decided to put these on the legs and not across the bum or there could have been some seriously dazzled drivers in Bristol tonight.
This was also the first proper test for the Davina for Next white sports shoes and racer-back vest. The vest was comfy and supportive and the trainers felt great. They are really light and not a bleeding ankle in sight. SUCCESS.
So the Davina for Next gear held up really well.
I, on the other hand…
Lord help me on Sunday…go easy Pam eh?

Haha! Loved this! Really made me chuckle. Keep up the good work, I’ll be joining you on the quest to bust the ass-wobbling. Oh dear, that sounded wrong.

well done you! So the trainers were good for running in? I wear my for Zumba & they’re great but a friend said they might not be good for running…because of those spongy areas? who knows running is definitely not my bag!
I agree about the capri’s – they hold it all in but don’t feel tight & restricted.
Look forward to reading more

They were! I was not convinced by the no laces in the trainers so I pulled the elastic tight and put a knot in it. Then, when I collapsed after and told Mr B he said they are like doing up snow-boarding boots? I will get him to show me next time but they really were great. Didn’t rub or chafe at all. How are you getting on?
