Well a very clever WordPress bod has done it, and Mum of One is now self-hosted.

Behind the scenes it is all looking a wee bit different though so my apologies if you notice the odd glitch in the next week or so.
I also appear to maybe have lost a few e-mail subscribers in the transfer so if any of you are not getting my posts in your inbox, you should be able to re-subscribe top-right-ish. Over there look *points*.

Erm, no? Maybe? Argh I am rubbish at this stuff. The WordPress bod may have. How does one go about checking?

What was the address of your blog before? If you type it in manually in the address bar and it takes you to here, it means the redirect is working.
PHEW! Would have been traumatised if I had lost you in the move Mr Cargill. Glad you are still with us!

pros and cons? reasons for doing?
Main reason was have been approached by a few PR companies to do some paid writing which wordpress.com won’t allow.
Pros, more freedom I guess.
Cons, lost quite a few wordpress.com followers and has re-set my stats to zero 🙁
Congratulations! You’ll be alright with the visitors if the redirect was done. And now there are plenty of useful plugins you can use, like the editorial calendar, the Clicky Analytics plugin and the wonderful WordPress SEO by Yoast.
It is always recommended to go with self-hosting, for any blog, it gives you more control and the blogging platform can’t block or erase your content if they have a problem with it.
