I had intended to spend this rather lovely bit of me-time writing a brief summary of my highs and lows in 2012. I am an extremely lucky lady this evening as the boy is safely tucked away in bed, snoring loudly through the monitor, and Mr B is currently slaving over a hot stove making what I am sure will be a delicious steak dinner.
There have undoubtedly been many highs this past year, the biggest of which being W learning to walk and talk and becoming a proper little boy, full of fun, excitement and mischief.
There have also been lows with the loss of both close friends and family members.
My ‘blog-life’ has imitated real-life in this regard. I have had great times both at Cybher, and more locally when I hit the town with the wonderful South-West-Blogger-Social clan. New friendships have been formed, many of which I feel, and hope, may endure beyond the life-span of this blog.
The entire blogging community was also saddened by the death of Kerry, Multiple Mummy. She is greatly missed and I can only hope that Multiple Daddy and her children will find the strength to face 2013 with fond memories and a hope for the future happiness she would have wished for them all.
And now looking forward, what will 2013 have in store for Casa B?
The biggest change will be the addition of baby number two this summer. Something I am both delighted, and scared to death about in equal measure. But tonight is not the night for fear so we will focus on the delightful bit. We truly cannot wait to have another baby in the house and I think W is going to love having a little one to play with. I may need to give the blog-name some thought though!
Things are also set to change on the work front with a friend opening up a new optometry practice so I will be going back to basics as it were, at least some of the week, though I will not be giving up my surgery stuff. I love it far too much.
Now, I don’t remember setting any resolutions last year so I couldn’t tell you if I stuck to them or not but I hope by writing these down I may stick to the next little lot this year.
JB’s resolutions for 2013:
- Finish the quilt that I started making W MONTHS ago.
- Not take two years to shift the baby-weight after the arrival of numero dos.
- Treasure the time I spend with Mr B and W and remind them often how much I love them.
- Get back into running as soon as I am able.
- Crack on with the, somewhat neglected, list.
- Finish off this round of I-Spy. Only Y and Z to go. Apologies for the delay spyers, I will get back on the case soon I promise.
- Be happy.
- Have some fun.
And on that note I bid 2012 a fond farewell and wish all of you lovely lot fun, love and frolics in 2013.
Happy new year!
The quote below I just found over on Boo, Roo and Tigger Too…
” Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier’…” – Alfred Tennyson

Congratulations on being pregnant with number 2! I am getting a bit worried about how Iyla will react, she is such a good little thing and I’m worried that she will start attention seeking! But I guess once they get used to having a little play mate it will all be fine, hopefully! The news about Kerry is so so sad, I keep thinking about what her poor family must be going through and it’s just such a reminder to be grateful for what you have and to enjoy your time with your family. Here’s to 2013! Happy New Year xx

Happy New Year pixie pants! 2013 is one of joy for you you lovely pregnant being you!
And I blame you 100% for the fact that I have just started the 30 Day Shred with Papasaurus.Feeling the burn already but the fact that Papasaurus is too unco-ordinated to do actual star jumps tickles me no end!

Oooooh, how is it going? I could barely walk for the first few days if the shred but lost 9cm around my waist in just over a week. Have put on about 19cm in the last week though dammit ;). Hope to catch up with you soon missus, happy new year x
