They say time passes when you’re having fun. I can’t say that I have been having fun EXACTLY this morning, but it is certainly passing very quickly.
You see I have found myself with a, so-rare-I-feared-it-was-almost-becoming-actually-endangered, child-free day. “No children?” I hear you gasp.
No.
Children.
And no work!
Now please don’t get me wrong. I do love them dearly and I do love being with them, obviously. But, often, I do find myself dreaming of days like this. Only now I have one, I have absolutely NO IDEA what to do. So flummoxed am I that I had to resort to asking my lovely Facebook friends for help. I even started a vote. I’m not kidding, look.
And now the morning is almost over and I am yet to achieve much at all. And time is still passing. I know this because I keep frantically checking the time, ON MY PHONE.
When did that happen? I have just realised that I am now completely reliant on my phone not only to feed my social media addiction, to stay up to date with EVERY BBC news alert, to stay on top of my now overflowing multiple mailboxes, but also just to tell me what time of the day it is.
I honestly cannot remember the last time I wore a watch. And I miss it. So much so that I just braved reaching way, way, underneath the bed to retrieve a box containing several of my old watches. *Brushes dust from clothes, hair and coughs up mothball.* And guess what? They have all stopped. Either that or I am now living in several alternate realities and it is both 15:27 and 04:15.
I have recently been spending less time with the laptop and I think it may be healthy to also prise myself away from my mobile once in a while too. So, I need a new watch.
And look at the beauties I found…
I found each of these over at The Watch Hut. I think I may well be spending the rest of the day drooling over them, and many more.
That is today sorted then.
How about you guys. Do you still wear a watch or have you become a phone-slave like me? FREE YOURSELF!
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post however all words are my own. And I REALLY, REALLY want that Vivienne Westwood watch. Someone nudge Mr B around Mother’s Day eh.

I stopped wearing a watch when I had the little one as I was so worried I might bump or scratch him with it (precious I know!) so I should get back into the habit as he is hardly a tiny baby anymore. Phone slave I am and it is hard to break the habit but I do love a pretty watch

I’m terrible for wearing watches, I wear it once take it off to wash up or something and that is where it stays until I remember and move it out of the way. I rely on my phone or just hope that I’m on time for whatever it is that I’m doing

Yeah, I have no watch either. I really need to start using my phone less to keep me in check, it serves as both a friend and a foe… I look at it and the next thing I know 20 minutes have passed. We should start a phone ban for at least 3hrs of every day and buy a watch so we know when we get it back hahahaha

I use my phone as a watch!!

My watch is broken and I miss it a lot! I have a pocket watch on a chain which I use when I’m at a gig because my phone is switched off for the radio mic. I’d be lost without it!

I still use a watch but it gives me eczema after a while so I revert to phone checking!

I still wear a watch! I restarted for exactly the same reason as you – realising that I was checking my phone too often. Now all I have to do is buy an alarm clock too, so I don’t have to keep my phone by the bed at night…

Ahh a child-free day – bliss!
I wear a watch every day, but I do use my phone as an alarm clock which is bad, means I take it to bed with me!

I’m allergic to the back’s of watches so I haven’t worn one for years.I do like the Vivenne Westwood watch too.
