Ok so here is how to NOT make a pretty pot, at least if you do it our way. This has to go down as a major craft fail on our part but with smaller beads it might actually work. The inspiration of this craft came firmly from C-Beebies Mister Maker, during a thunderstorm, and facing an entire day stuck inside…we did what we had to folks! And the boy LOVED it, which is what counts. Right?
So, if you too want to own a ‘pretty pot’ like ours this is what you will need:
- One empty jar
- Mod podge
- Glue/paint brushes
- Beads…smaller than ours, or sequins etc
- Fairly deep tray.
And here is what to do:
- Soak the label off your jar.
- Cover liberally with Mod Podge, minus the upper rim.
- Sprinkle on your beads/sequins/glitter/buttons
- Allow to dry
- Cover top of lid and repeat.
FYI pom poms DO NOT STICK and our beads were a bit big.
I am sure you will do better and the boy had a tonne of fun so totally worth it.
Crafty crafty eh?
