In the second #VanishGoldForWhites challenge I decided to test it’s stain removing properties when faced with the multiple types of dirt my kids regularly come home covered in.
First I took one of Little Miss’ clean white baby grows…
Then I…
1. Rubbed it on the wet grass
2. Rubbed it on the flower bed
3. Smeared in some ketchup
4. And some marmite
5. And then added red wine for good measure.
(Ok so the kids aren’t likely to come home with this one but I wanted to see how it would fare.)
It was actually kinda fun.
Next, I followed the instructions on the box mixing 1/4 scoop of Vanish Gold Oxi Action powder with 3/4 scoop of water to make a paste which I then smeared over the stains. After 5 minutes I then rubbed the paste into the stains using the bottom of the scoop. This is how we looked at this stage…
Next, I soaked it for 4 hours in a small sink filled with warm water and just one scoop of Vanish.
Here is the difference that made…
Incredible hey? Perhaps just a hint of ketchup left?
Finally I washed as normal at 40° with my usual detergent and added one scoop of Vanish to the wash also.
This is the what came out.
So, would I recommend Vanish Gold Oxi Action…you betcha. Before trying this when faced with similar stains I have been guilty of just throwing clothes away. Now, there is no need for all that waste. I am so impressed. We will be keeping a pot of this in the armoury for many years to come.
Disclosure: As part of the Vanish Bloggers’ Club I have been compensated for this post however all opinions are my own and completely honest.

I always think stain removers don’t really work, but you’ve proved me wrong here!

I am truly impressed. I never really believed in stain removers so would never have bought anything like this. Am so glad I got to try it for real and see the proof.

Holy smokes, that is SO impressive! I wish I’d had some of that when T was a baby and still in his white vests, I went through so many of those things because they started looking so nasty and stained very quickly!

It’s funny – LMC was trying to get me to buy a tub of this in the supermarket last week. She’d seen the advert on Tiny Pop and was convinced that I needed some to get all the stains out of her clothes from when she plays in the garden. Maybe she’s right…

That’s amazing – I’m always a bit skeptical about things like this so I love to see real reviews x x
