With summer in full swing I do love a bit of nautical fashion, even more so since moving so near to the coast. At the moment the hope of owning our own boat is a distant dream but something we are aiming to achieve in the future. With this in mind, it is important to look the part, no? I already own far too many Breton tops, six at the last count, but what about the smalls? Here are my favourite nautical picks for The Boy this year. Little Marcel, striped jersey top with hood, £31.00 I love this beautiful striped jersey top, perfect for the cooler summer ...
How to pay with cash online: Try Ukash!
With an increasing number of companies taking their businesses online, it’s often difficult to find what you’re looking for in a brick and mortar store. Most e-commerce sites offer a vast selection of items to choose from, which steers people away from traditional shopping methods and towards online shopping instead. However, if you’re without credit or debit, you might be left wondering, “How does online shopping work for me?” Luckily, there are ways to shop online using cash, so that you won’t need to rely on those little plastic cards for payment or worry about identity theft. On that note, ...

#VanishGoldForWhites: The Results Are In
As part of the Vanish Bloggers' Club I was sent a pot of the new Vanish Gold For Whites Powder to try out. I was sent a deliberately discoloured Karen Millen shirt to see if this product would be able to restore it to it's former glory. I really hoped so, it would have been a really nice shirt, if not so horribly grey. To be honest I didn't hold out much hope. To achieve three shades whiter whites Vanish recommend two possible methods. Method One: Add one scoop of Vanish Gold For Whites powder to 4L of warm water and soak for a maximum of six hours. ...
Win a GoGlow Night Bright and Banish Bedtime Fears
Having recently moved house one of my major concerns was settling the children into their new bedroom. I was particularly worried for The Boy as being a pre-schooler he has a more active imagination and, not being contained in a cot like Little Miss, I was worried that night-time stumbles to the bathroom may be confusing in a whole new environment. Luckily enough Worlds Apart came to our rescue with a fabulous GoGlow Night Bright which I was able to present to him as a moving in present on his first night in the new house. He was beyond pleased. Unlike our ...
Listography: Top Five Films on Netflix
It has been far too long since we joined in with Kate for a Listography and this month we simply could not resist. As a fellow Netflix #streamteam member Kate is asking for our top five films on Netflix and here are mine. In at number one has to be Into The Wild. This is a proper weepy film for me. I literally cried for weeks after watching it and the soundtrack is just beautiful. It scores a decent four and a half stars on Netflix. For me it is five stars all the way. If you haven't seen it yet I would certainly recommend but have your tissues at the ready. You have been ...
Children’s Artwork: Ireland
Fellow blogger Sarah from Boo, Roo and Tigger too recently started a really lovely new linky that I could not resist joining in with. Each week, on a Thursday, she shares some artwork from one of her children. The boy is at that lovely age where all of his art is completely random. There are no real lines, no structure and I know this is something I will want to look back on as he gets older. The trouble is there is just so much of it it is hard to know where to keep it all. So, I hope that by joining in with this then at least some of it will be preserved forever on line. This ...

Protecting Your Childs Hearing
Is there anything more precious than your childs senses? Were you aware that some relatively common sounds could be putting your child's hearing at risk? Me neither. Below are some ideas of when you may need to be careful and perhaps consider extra precautions such as earplugs to make sure that you are not putting your child's hearing at risk. Disclosure: This post is brought to you in association with earplugshop.com. ...
How to Make a Cotbed Quilt for Beginners, Step 4: Sewing Your Rows Together.
Congratulations on finishing step 3! Now, I'm afraid to say, it is time to get the iron out. You should now have your 8 individual rows of squares. Before we sew them together we need to iron down the seams. This makes pinning them together ready for sewing much easier and you will find it helps to line up the squares more accurately. Take row 1. Place right side down on your ironing board and iron down the seams so that they are pointing to your right. Then take row 2, place right side down and iron down seams pointing to your left. Repeat, alternating direction for each row in ...
