Getting Ready for the Next Christmas You’re looking out at the sky at 5.00pm now and it’s actually still light… Christmas is long over, you survived January and now you’re looking forward to spring. Spring is followed by summer, then comes autumn, then another winter, which means…another Christmas! You know when it is – December 25 – and you know that it happens every year. So why, then, do you find yourself scrabbling around for presents in November and wondering how on earth you’re going to pay for it all? Every year. Not this year, though. This year it’s going to be different. ...
Have Yourself an Uncommonly Good Christmas!
I don't tend to write many review posts these days, but when I was approached by Uncommon Goods about the possibility of checking them out and reviewing for them it made me pause. When I first hit their website what really caught my attention was that these guys are on a mission. And a good one at that. Just a few of their policies are: To have a positive impact, both in the world AND in their work environment. They offer full health insurance to all of their full time, and most part time, employees and promise that everyone receives a fair wage. To be ...
A Letter From Santa via the NSPCC
Children’s charity NSPCC have been bringing Christmas to life with their latest activity, Letter’s From Santa and asked me to get involved – spreading the word keeping the magic of Santa alive. To this end, I provided them with information about my son William including hobbies, achievements, friends and siblings and then the wonderful people at NSPCC worked their own Santa magic to produce an incredible response to William’s information provided. And here it is... LFS NSPCC to William There is still time to create one for your own children and print out ahead of ...

It is that time of year again when many of us are scratching our heads trying to get away from the usual boring Xmas gift ideas. Never fear I am here to help with my top five picks this festive season so, before you buy another box of smells or another pair of socks take a look at these: The first would make a lovely stocking filler. "The Very Hungover Caterpillar." is a really cute parody of the classic children's tale except this time it follows the quest of one man as he attempts to shake off his hangover, eating whatever he can get his hands on and annoying his family ...

I am going to say it. I know it is only October but I still need to say it. The C word. CHRISTMAS! With the start of Strictly Come Dancing the countdown to Christmas really begins at Casa B but it has started this year for an even more exciting reason than ballroom dancing on a Saturday night. We are so delighted to be involved with this year's NSPCC Letter From Santa campaign. Every year so many of us go to great lengths to keep the magic of Xmas and Santa alive for our little ones. Green Bottle Xmas Tree Craft
I recently up-cycled a green glass bottle into a rather pretty vase. The more I looked at it though the more it made me think of Christmas. I decided to have another go, this time making some Christmas trees which could be used as festive decorations. I began by painting a few old corks green. While these dried I set about decorating my bottles, labels having been soaked off, with gems, securing each with craft glue. Finally I cut out some cardboard stars, added some glitter for a bit of Christmas sparkle, and attached these to the corks with a cocktail stick and cellotape. Finally, I ...
Toddler Craft: Super Simple Christmas Cards
This craft is great fun with toddlers and it is so simple to do. The boy, having overcome his initial fear, is still loving to paint and his favourite painty tool is cotton wool balls. We recently made these super cute Halloween Monster Cards and I thought perhaps it was time we thought about Christmas. I know, I know, I literally start the countdown in October! So, we decided to make some Christmas Cards and discovered cotton wool was perfect for splodging out some Christmas trees! Simply splodge out your tree shape with some green paint on a white card. Next add some adhesive gems ...
