We are at the very exciting stage with The Boy of beginning to learn to read. His letter recognition is now pretty good so we are just starting to practice some simple words. I have always loved to read and have wonderful memories of learning to read with my Mum and my sister as a child. One of my happiest, earliest memories is crawling around the floor with my Mum putting together very simple words, each written on a piece of card, stretching in a long line right across the lounge and trying to form a sentence.
