I was recently asked if I would like to review a photo-canvas from www.photo-canvas.com. Mr B and I had actually been thinking for some time now that we should really do something with some of our honeymoon photos so we were delighted when this opportunity arose.
Photo-canvases are becoming an increasingly popular way of displaying digital photos and at www.photo-canvas.com your picture is printed on a woven canvas which is then hand-stretched over a strong, anti-warping frame.
It took me a while to decide on which photo to send them but eventually I decided on this one. This shot was taken on our honeymoon and shows the ship that we sailed on through the beautiful inside passage of Alaska.
So, picture chosen, I headed on over to the website. Here I chose a 30 x 40cm canvas print and uploaded my photo. I was then given an option of a ‘gallery wrap’ which would stretch the picture around the edge of the frame, ‘colour wrap’ where I was able to choose a block colour for the edges of the canvas or ‘mirror wrap’ where part of the image near the edge of the frame is mirrored at the edge of the canvas. I chose a mirror wrap and am really pleased with how this came out. Finally, I was able to add my own message to the back of the canvas, a lovely idea if you were making this as a gift for someone.
Designing the canvas really couldn’t have been easier and the website was very easy to navigate with clear instructions and explanations throughout. Even better, within just a few days, my canvas arrived.
And here it is…
Here you can see the mirror-wrap effect at the edge of the frame, the entire canvas from the front, and I have tried to take a close up to show you the quality of the detail transferred to the canvas. I am afraid my pictures don’t really do it justice but the detail is really very good and the colours are fresh and vibrant. I am really impressed with the quality of the canvas and it is now hanging up on our kitchen wall for all to see.
Now I chose a regular canvas from www.photo-canvas.com but there are many other styles to choose from including multi-panel prints, film montage canvases, pop art and even Banksy-style effects. There really is something to suit everyone and they would make wonderful personalised presents. If you have left things a bit last minute they even offer a same-day dispatch service.
To see for yourself why not head on over to their website and have a little look.
If you like what you see you may then want to enter this months super prize draw. Photo-canvas are offering one lucky reader the chance to win a 30 x 40cm regular canvas, montage canvas or message canvas. Simply enter via the rafflecopter below AND leave me a comment telling me what you would choose to put on your own picture canvas. Extra entries can be gained in the usual ways via the rafflecopter also.
Good luck!
Disclosure: No payment was received for this post however the photo canvas depicted was supplied to me free of charge for the purpose of this review.
