“What was that?” Mr B enquires.
“Mmm.”
“No really Jen what was that noise?”
“Just next door I expect.” I reply whilst unable to tear myself away from a fabulous new discovery on Pinterest.
“I’ll go and look.”
Now I feel bad as, to be fair, he has been at work all day while W and I have had a great time making cakes and rolling about on the lounge floor playing trains and laughing at with Mr Maker. I follow.
We look about the kitchen as if it is an alien landscape.
He reaches for the cupboard door, looking nervously back over his shoulder at me first.
I nod in what I hope is an encouraging and not too fearful way.
He opens the door.
Carnage.
Dishes lay shattered in haphazard piles, shards of ramekins are sprinkled across the debris and the cheese board shaped like a wine bottle, that neither of us can remember either purchasing or receiving, dangles precariously over the now-collapsed shelf.
“Just to be clear. You put all the frying pans, casserole dishes and crockery on the top shelf?”
“Hmm, it would appear…”
“And all the tupperware on the bottom shelf.”
“Well I…”
“I’ll ring the carpenter.”
“Don’t forget to mention…”
“The child-sized hole in the front porch floor and the collapsed door in the hallway.” he finishes.
Just another day in Casa B.
Perhaps I should find some DIY boards on Pinterest.

I hope the cheese board is okay.

It survived.
I can’t say I’m delighted.

The joy of an old house! I feel your pain. Hubs and I spent the afternoon up step ladders trying to install some cheapy plastic temporary secondary glazing in the boys room in an effort to keep it over 12 degrees. We also now have to turn the bath hot tap on to get hot water in the kitchen. *sigh*

Oh jeez, that sounds like a right pain? Hope the snow didn’t reach you x

This happened to me in my son’s bedroom – he slept through it! Nothing broke just books and cuddly toys everywhere.

That is one sound little sleeper! Result! 🙂
