We were delighted earlier this summer when we were asked to review a Trunki suitcase for Idealo. They kindly sent W a Green T-Rex Trunki suitcase for use over the summer holidays. For those who have yet to see them the Trunki is a small colourful suitcase designed specifically for children. Each has a fun design, in our case a dinosaur. It has fast become one of his favoured posessions and has imaginatively been nick-named Rex. So far we have taken Rex on trips to stay with both grandparents and actually played with it a great deal at home too pulling it along, and riding on it across, the ...

The Loveliest Blogger In Town Award
It is ages since I received a good award. I fear my standards have been slipping a little of late as have been super busy so figure I have slim/fat/little/no chance of winning any for my recent efforts. As well as being rubbish at sitting down and writing my own posts recently I have also struggled to find time to comment much on others, but I promise I have still been reading and enjoying immensely. I am not one to be beaten easily though so I have created a BRAND NEW AWARD to be bestowed on some lovely other blog folk. Now a blogging award, as I am sure you are aware, ALWAYS comes with ...
How to Make A Blog Button (For Dummies)
In the run up to my one year blogoversary I have been re-visiting some old posts. Here is one that I wrote for the wonderful Love New Blogs. I am posting it here in case any of you guys missed it and may find it a useful one. So, way back in August I began writing my blog, Mum of One. I thought it might be fun but honestly didn't expect to keep at it for more than a month or two. However within a week I was hooked. I met so many other lovely parent bloggers, I joined twitter, and I discovered the really fun side of blogging. I also soon realised a fantastic way of meeting other bloggers ...

Bear-hugs and bed-bumps
Five. Seventeen. A. M. This is the time I was rudely awoken this morning by the boy's cries. Actually, this is not strictly true, it was probably 5:14 as I definitely spent three minutes with my eyes clamped tightly shut, willing myself and him back to sleep, not looking at the clock, and wishing, not for the first time, that he had come with a mute button installed. You would think I would have learnt by now that this approach is utterly futile. He wasn't giving up. So at 5:17 I drag my sorry arse across the landing to see what is up. Nappy check-fine. Comforter-all present ...

Can you protect your child TOO much?
I am a worrier. I worry to my bones about anything and everything. I worry so much that I even grind my teeth at night in my sleep, much to Mr B's annoyance. To be fair to him though it must sound HORRIFIC. Almost as horrific I imagine as the speech-intolerant jaw-ache I am left with for the first two hours of the morning. "Tea?" "Yeshh pweerz." Now that the boy is on the move my worry, no my downright terror levels have hit a new high. I vaguely remember having a whinge on here at some point at how long it took him to learn to crawl. What was I thinking? Those days were ...
