The year is 1995.
The location is Glastonbury.
Myself, and eight close friends, have just finished our GCSEs, some of us that very morning. We are 16, full of hope, full of confidence, energy, eager for more excitement. We are young.
And we are at a festival.
This weekend will forever remain one of my most truly treasured memories. We were a group of schoolgirls, but good friends, who took ourselves off, drank a bit, smoked a bit, danced a lot, talked a lot and really just had a bloody good time together as friends. It was magical.
I suspect none of us then had any idea that we would be the people we are, or living the lives that we do, now.
I miss those days.
I miss those girls.
This was the highlight of the festival for most of us. Just watching this clip sends me right back there for a moment. If you look REALLY hard you may just catch a glimpse of me and the wondrous Cat from Yellow Days at the front of the crowd to the right.
The Prodigy, No Good, Glastonbury 1995
Magical moments.

Best. Post. EVAR!
I used to be well into The Prodigy back then as well. I have never been to a festival but I saw them at Brixton Academy a few times.
They were bloody amazing. I would snap up any magazine that mentioned them on the front.
Them were the days.

They were indeed!
Definitely one of the best live acts I have ever seen. Keith rolled on stage in a human sized hamster ball, awesome!

Oh lady, you have zoomed up my list of bloggers to admire! (and be a little bit envious of – wish I had been there as a 16 year old). Love The Prodigy and saw them at the UEA in Norwich, not quite the same as Glastonbury!

High-five me Melks.
Please.

WHOOP! I reckon we should aim for some kind of blogger-festival meet up one year!

Jealous.
Loved The Prodigy around that time (in fact, I’d loved them since Experience) but had no chance of getting to see them at age twelve.
A similar happy festival memory for me was seeing RHCP at Reading in 1999, good times! 🙂
