In my quest to become a Center Parcs Family Blogger I have taken on their December challenge. Last month saw us putting our poetry hat on and getting creative with Autumn leaves. This month Nick, a Center Parcs Winter Wonderland expert, has asked us to share twelve of our favourite Christmas things.
Well, I could have just written them down…perhaps should have just written them down, but instead decided to lose the plot entirely give things a musical twist.
So, I can only apologise, but I would suggest that you put on your best Christmas jumper, drink a large glass of egg-nog and sing along with me to the tune of ‘Favourite Things’ from The Sound of Music…
Here goes…
Red cups in Starbucks and gingerbread lattes,
New dress to wear to the work Christmas party.
Crafting an angel with pipe-cleaner wings.
These are a few of my favourite things.
Pigs in their blankets and Scrooge on the telly,
Too many mince pies, not great for my belly.
Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday nights.
These are a few of my Christmas delights.
Gifts and baubles,
Champagne breakfasts,
And if I feel sad,
I simply dress up my poor son as an elf,
And then I don’t feel…
So
Bad.
Nothing like a Christmas sing song hey? *Coughs*
As part of the December challenge we have also been asked to share our favourite tip from Nick. This is mine.
For those who don’t fancy venturing out, there’s still plenty to do inside at Center Parcs. The traditional pantomimes are always a favourite with our guests and the Elf Academy at Sherwood Forest turns your little ones into trainee elves, complete with an elf graduation.
Seriously? An Elf Academy…this is quite possibly the cutest thing that I have ever heard.
This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 December challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Longleat Forest.
Wahey! Awesome post, yo.
And your little ‘un looks adorable in that elf costume.
Thank you…although am not sure I can convince hi now he is a bit bigger. Spiderman yes, elf…no *weeps*
Another fantastic post – they should so pick you, we would all so look forward to your reviews.
Thank you, I still have everything crossed!
She does it again! You little genius! x
Oh bless you honey x
What a lovely post! I’ve given up trying to be a Center Parcs blogger as the process seems very stressful but I hope they pick you – good luck.

Elf Academy?! That is sooo sweet! Brilliant song and gorgeous picture x
It sounds amazing doesn’t it? I would love to see it 🙂
That is fabulous – I could even hear Julie Andrews singing it for you.
Mahaha, I toyed with the idea of a VLOG and singing it but didn’t want to lose all my readers LOL!
Love all your favourite things especially the Champagne and Strictly.
Well if you can’t have champagne at Xmas when can you LOL. I am a shameful Strictly addict. Mr B has lost interest now Ola is out 😉

It is never too early for fizz! Well, at Xmas at least!

Brilliant! Just brilliant!
You are too sweet, mwah 😉
Brilliant! I miss holly – sounds bizarre but they don’t have it over here in Canada and I’m wondering what to stick on the top if my Christmas pud!
Oooh, if you were super creative could you try making some from icing? I am nowhere near that talented. Failing that how about some caramelised orange slices?
Awesome song!! My son is 3 and there’s no chance of getting him dressed up as an elf 🙁 batman all the way for him!
I know the feeling! He won’t let me either this year 🙁
I could barely take in the lyrics – eye definitely caught by the cute child.

LOL. I am so sorry. You will be humming it all day, eek!
I sang it. And then I collapsed on the floor in giggles. I’m never sure about these because most people don’t do them well, but this one is absolute genius!
Oh thank you so much! You have made my day 🙂
That is BRILLIANT!! Enough said

That’s a sweet little poem. Your elf is so cute, I just love his outfit! Found my way here from the Parenting Pin-It Party.
Thanks so much Tarana, and for joining in with this weeks party. Do pop back next week. Your post really made me smile, so funny. If you find the toddler-mood-detecting t-shirt do let me know! 😉
The most adorable Elf I’ve ever seen! I’d like to be a helper at that Academy… 🙂 Good Luck, hope the fab song wins it for you!
