We were lucky enough this month to have a short break in Tuscany visiting Mr B's brother, Uncle Ben. On his last trip to the UK we made the discovery that our existing pram was unfortunately too big for the boot of his Fiesta. He had very kindly offered to pick us up from Pisa airport which had left us with a bit of a dilemma. Leave the pram behind and carry Little Miss everywhere, my arms ached just at the thought, or pay for a larger hire car. Luckily, in the nick of time, we were chosen to be a Cosatto Brand Buddy, yay, and were sent the Cosatto Supa pushchair to review. Being a ...

Happy Monday folks and welcome to this weeks' parenting pin it party which is being hosted by yours truly this week, yay! This means I get to choose two favourites from last weeks entries. There is a fun food theme to this weeks' choices and the first from the fabulous eats amazing could be very handy for anyone facing the prospect of packed lunches for the first time this September. I also recently ordered some cutters and food picks from this site and they have been a HUGE hit with my two. Thank you Grace. Do check out the post below. The second is ...
TV in the bedroom? The Great Debate
While Mr B and I agree on many things, there are some things that we simply cannot quite reconcile. Bread for instance. I like white. He likes brown. Neither of us like those inbetweeny-looks-like-white-tastes-like-brown ones. Tea. English breakfast, white, one sugar for me. Earl Grey, black, no sugar for him. Shepherds pie. Heaven for me. Hell for him. Oysters. Hell for me. Heaven for him. Ok, so none of these differences are exactly a problem and we can carry on our lives quite happily, even if we do need to buy two loaves of bread at each shop and different brands of ...
With a little bit of luck…
"Nobody gets justice. People only get good luck or bad luck." - Orson Welles Do you believe in luck? In some ways I think I do. I definitely think that some people are naturally more lucky than others. Take my mother, (Please, take her, my Dad would say.) She is definitely lucky. She has this uncanny knack of picking the most unlikely looking winner at the races simply because she likes the colour of the jockey's hat or the horse's name. She doesn't study form, she is often not at all bothered by the odds but she will say she just 'had a feeling.' Mr B on the other hand is the ...

What is remotely interesting about interest rates?
What is remotely interesting about interest rates? Not a lot I once thought. As soon as I became a homeowner, a heavily-mortgaged homeowner to be correct, they suddenly became all too important. When I was searching for my first flat the banks were literally falling over themselves to lend me money. There were mentions even of 110% mortgages with no deposit and it was all too easy. I still had those niggling little voices in my head though from hearing stories of the stress and strain a 13% interest rate put on my lovely parents when we were growing up. A situation that seems almost ...
Did I Mention The Move? #MovingToDevon
Did I mention the move? Um, yep, I think I may have done a million times once or twice on facebook and twitter but just in case any of you missed it we are #MovingtoDevon. I am just a little bit excited. Hence the hashtag. We have decided the time is right to take Casa B out of the rat-race and head for the beach. Currently we are playing the waiting game and our actual moving date is in the hands of the solicitors. We have accepted an offer on our house here in Bristol and had our offer accepted on the new house in Devon. And now we wait. Impatiently. To be honest I should ...

Dear Diary: Center Parcs August Challenge
This month Center Parcs are asking us to sit down with the little ones and record some of our special memories of this Summer. Steph, a Center Parcs Community Manager has some great ideas on how to get creative with this and below is my favourite tip of hers: "Write down your memories and pop them in an empty jar. Hang onto the jar until next summer, and you can open it and reminisce, or even get some inspiration!" So this is what we decided to do and, as it turned out, we already had the perfect jar! You can find out how to make your own here. The boy and I sat down and had a ...
