10 Reasons I HATE Running

September 6, 2016 By jbmumofone 12 Comments

Running

  1. It hurts.
  2. My calves feel like lead.
  3. I discover more bits which wobble that I hadn’t noticed previously.
  4. All of a sudden there seems to be very little air.
  5. And the air that there is feels like travelling through glue.
  6. Feeling the need to speed up on sight of another human being…and actually being incapable of doing so.
  7. Attempting to convey a ‘please don’t try and talk to me’ smile at said human beings because there is really not enough breath to spare on chat…or smiling come to that.
  8. Hills literally get steeper before my very eyes.
  9. Ten minutes feel like ten hours.
  10. It shouldn’t be this hard!

I have a hate-hate relationship with running.  I hate running and it truly hates me back.

I am going to be spending quite a lot of time hating running this month.

Here is why.

It is a complete bitch when you’re struggling… but once you get to a certain point, it gets better.

I can’t actually say I ‘like’ running, but being fit(ter) is pretty damned groovy.

I just don’t have the mental strength to voluntarily put myself through all that. I don’t even run after the bus 😀

Bleugh, I also hate running. I’ve really tried to like it, but it’s just not in me to enjoy it. Plus, it’s a killer for my knees. But good on you for powering on through.

I would like to run but it hurts my back and hips. But if I lost weight my back and hips wouldn’t hurt so much.I did try running before the Comic Relief Danceathon but I was in so much pain, I gave up after 3 weeks. Maybe try jogging then sprint running?

I blog because I love to write, and for sanity’s sake, and have been blogging since August 2011. So why not dig on in and explore?
