Our first review item this month is one that you really have to be a parent of a small child to understand. Do you have a fussy eater at home.? Do mealtimes often descend into utter meltdown of the " I CAN'T EAT THAT CHIP IT'S GOT BEAN JUICE ON IT." ....variety? If so this may be the thing for you. We were kindly sent some of these Re-play divided plates from 1-Two Kids to try. Cleverly made from recycled milk bottles they have 3 deep sections, perfect for toddlers just getting to grips with utensils, and perfect for keeping your fish-fingers away from your baked ...
Confessions of a Scootaholic (Y-Glider Review)
My name is William, I am 3, and I am a scootaholic. I love, nay NEED, to scoot. Daily. So when the Y-Glider Deluxe from Yvolution arrived at my house I was, quite literally, beside myself with glee. First of all it is green. GREEN. And everyone knows all the best things are green. The park is pretty green, bogies, peas...well peas aren't that great I suppose, and it does come in other colours too, but I love the green. Second slice of awesomeness, it is really light. Not so light that it would blow away, or topple over easily, but light enough that Mum or Dad can carry ...
Dinosaur Roar!
As my regular readers will know we love all things dino at Casa B, so when asked if we wanted to review a new app inspired by the iconic picture book 'Dinosaur Roar!' it was a no-brainer. This picture book, by Paul and Henrietta Strickland, was first published in 1994 and Random House have recently released a special 20th anniversary edition. The app is aimed at 2-4 year olds and incorporates different storytelling functions, one of which is narrated by different children and is our favourite. It also includes a colouring game that the boy really likes, and a ...
April 2014 Review: This Month We Love…
We have received a mixed selection of items for review over the last month and on the whole have been pleased with them all. The boy was delighted with our first item, an Imaginext Alpha Explorer from Fisher Price. The Imaginext Alpha Explorer is a toy space shuttle and landing station, with accompanying astronaut, designed for children aged 3-8. There is plenty of fine-motor skill practice to be had with platforms that twist and raise, plastic 'lasers' to fire, and fuel gauges that spin. The shuttle can be detached from the station and various pieces ...
Center Parcs Longleat With Little Ones: Our Review and Top Tips
I was very lucky to have been chosen as one of Center Parcs' Family Bloggers for 2014 and we have recently returned from our short family break at Center Parcs Longleat. We opted for a Monday-Friday four night stay which was within one of their three bedroom Woodland Lodges. A fabulous time was had by all and below you will see how we got on along with some of our top tips to make the most of your stay. Check in online prior to arrival. This made our arrival very straightforward as, on arriving at the check-in lodge, we could simply hand over our booking reference and were given the ...
Product Review: Vertical Chalk Planner from Tinyme
One of the resolutions at Casa B this year was to try and be a bit more money conscious, and live a little more frugally. One thing that we have found hugely helpful in achieving this is meal-planning. Every Sunday Mr B and I will have a look at what is left in the fridge, or the freezer, and then plan our meals for the week. This has become even more helpful of late since, now heavily into the grips of our Insanity fitness plan, some nights we need to make sure that our meals are quick and simple to prepare so that we are not eating too late, or eating anything too heavy that we won't ...
Super Simple Valentine’s Card With The Cricut Mini
I was recently sent a Cricut Mini for review and, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided it might be time to give it a whirl and to make Mr B a sweet, but simple, Valentine's card. I often struggle to find suitable cards for Mr B. They are either, too soppy, not soppy enough, not funny enough or just a bit, well....twee. So I decided it was time to get my craft on. I must confess that initially I encountered several problems trying to log in to the Cricut Mini Software that I had downloaded to my Mac. Unsure if it was my fault, which I felt may be entirely possible, ...
This Month We Love…
In our final round up of 2013 we were lucky enough to review some wonderful products. The first was a special treat for Mr B and myself when we were sent a mixed case of 12 bottles of wine from Virgin Wines. This was part of a special wine hamper available as a Bespoke Offer from Barclaycard. The highlight of the reds was most certainly a beautiful Chilean Pinot Noir, Tierra Del Corazon Casablanaca Pinot Noir Reserva 2013. It had wonderful hints of both blackcurrant and cherry and a lovely velvety finish and partnered beautifully with a rack of lamb. From the whites my favourites ...
Menzies Birmingham Stourport Manor Hotel: A Review
To say that I was just a little bit delighted to be asked to review the Menzies Birmingham Stourport Manor Hotel would be somewhat of an understatement. A night away? Awesome. The only question that remained was to bring the kids, or not to bring the kids? The grandparents, however, very kindly offered to have them for the night so that question was VERY quickly answered. With much delight Mr B and I headed off, alone. On arrival that afternoon we received a truly lovely welcome from Ben at reception. After checking us in he really could not have been more helpful with offering ...
Product Review: Pampers New Baby Sensitive Nappies
We were recently sent a supply of Pampers New Baby Sensitive nappies to try out with Little Miss E and we were DELIGHTED. In the early days with the boy we experimented with various different brands of nappy but eventually settled on Pampers. When Little Miss E arrived we, again, had a load of vouchers for various brands so tried a mixture to use them up. Now if there is one thing Little Miss excels at it is filling her nappy...and then some. As poor old Granny has discovered to her peril. The first time we brought both children back to my hometown of Stratford upon Avon my Mum very ...
