So, it is getting rather close to my blog-o-versary. Almost ONE WHOLE YEAR on from my very first dip into blog-land. So, I have decided that over the next two weeks I may re-visit some of my favourite posts, and some that may not be the cheeriest but were important to me. This is my first 'Blog Gem'. (I must state here that this idea has been whole-heartedly and utterly thieved from one of my favourite bloggers, the wonderful Kate Takes Five. I am hoping she won't mind too much *smiles sweetly and passes the vino...*). This is from a very long time ago when W was still rather ...
Grandmotherly Love
To say that W has become quite attached to his Granny (Gaga) and Grandad (Dadad) in the last month would be somewhat of an understatement. The delight on his face when they arrived to babysit this Friday was just awesome. His smile was a mile wide and his eyes twinkled with glee. Mr B and myself may also have had a bit of a grin surfacing as it meant we could... ...wait for it... Go out! Really out. Requiring a TAXI out no less. But not just that... ...Go out together! Whoop! We did. It was awesome. It hurt a LOT the next day. But the most fun ...
#ISpy: I spy with my little eye something beginning with Z
We did it! We got all the way through the alphabet, perhaps with the odd duplicate due to my appalling memory! So, here we are at Z. The final letter in this round and, for the last time we are playing... "I spy with my little eye something beginning with Z." Thanks so much to all of you lovely folks who have joined in and I hope you will again today. The magical linky-list awaits you once more. And, never fear! I spy will be back for a new round next week this time going from A-Z, but in alphabetical order. Finally, I may just be somewhere sunning myself when this ...
Tesco Finest Côtes Catalanes Grenache 2010
The Grenache grape is the most widely planted grape for red wine and enjoys a somewhat mixed reputation, perhaps due to it's sheer abundancy. Although sometimes reviled it actually forms over 80% of the extremely popular and celebrated Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It requires hot and dry conditions and this particular red is made from the old Grenache vines of the Côtes Catalanes in the far south of France. It is a medium bodied, silky red and has a deep fruity flavour, mostly plum, with an almost dark-chocolate after taste. This type of deep red will stand up well against a hearty, meaty ...

All in a day’s work
The wonderful Cat from Yellow Days is returning to work this week, having been off on maternity leave since last November. Understandably she is a little nervous but, having known her for over twenty years now, there is really no need as she is entirely capable, competent and can organise stationary like no other...although I don't think that is really what they pay her for. That she does purely for the joy of it! Anyway, she has asked us all to link up and share a little of our own experiences of work and motherhood. Work had a massive impact on how I approached the first few months ...
I’m SO NOT a celebrity.
This new meme is the work of the wonderful Kate on Thin Ice. She has a stupendous blog so do pop on over and show her some love. I have, very kindly, been tagged in this by the equally stupendous Hello It's Gemma. Now you MUST head on over to her blog. It is truly awesome. So what is this one going to involve? Well it is in the style of the ITV travesty that is 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!' So, take a deep breath, close your eyes, and now picture me emerging from my daily bathe in the rock pool, M&S red bikini on, slim, sexy.....too far? Yep, bit too much of a stretch ...
Belly Busting Countdown…Timer reset: 64 days to go
Ok folks. Have not updated you on my dieting progress for a while. Mainly because since the holiday my willpower has all but vanished and have been terrified to get on the scales. So, my progress. Well, here we go. I now look like... *DRUMROLL* This! Oh, if only. This morning I summoned up the courage and stepped on the scales. The result, NO CHANGE! HURRAH! Left for my hols with 7lbs to go until reaching my target weight and still have 7lbs to go. I think a minor bout of food poisoning in the interim may have helped as Lord knows I have been rubbish at controlling ...
What? Wednesday…
OK, so last Wednesday I decided to give Mammasaurus' new meme a try. What?Wednesday involves writing a note, anything at all, and leaving it somewhere public to be found along with a link to your blog. Well, I wrote my note, ....and duly left it in the back of a Menu at The Rummer Hotel in Bristol... ....then ran away giggling like a schoolgirl. So if anyone came across said note please let me know! What? Wednesday. To see where everyone else left theirs linky up here... ...
