Dear Emily, My beautiful girl. I have written you a letter, as I did with your brother the day that he turned one. This is a purely selfish post, and one that you will no doubt berate me for when you are older but I am just so bloody proud of you. You are joyous. You are strong. You are happy. You are loving. You scare me when you shout at me sometimes. I love you so much more than you could ever imagine. From my bones. And I will always love you. From my bones. My monkey. My terrorist. My trickster. My ...

Center Parcs June Blogger Challenge: On Your Bike
This month Center Parcs set us the challenge of sending us all out on their favourite mode of transport, the bicycle. Sadly the only owner of a bicycle currently Chez Bath is the boy. We did not let this deter us though and today, making the most of the lovely sunshine, we set out on his bike and headed to the local park. Here we made use of my new, rather swanky, picnic hamper. The boy and Daddy enjoyed some football, as well as more cycling, and we soaked up some sun. Little Miss had fun exploring lots of new food too, mostly stolen form everyone else's plates. Below is our ...

Killing Me Softly With Football…
" 'Killing me softly with football, Killing me softly, With football....' How did I end up married to a football fan?" Such was the Facebook status of a very lovely family member recently, yes YOU lovely lady who shall remain nameless, when the reality of the remainder of this summer dawned upon her. She is Welsh you see and grew up in a family who prefer their sport with a ball more ovoid in nature, and men with bigger thighs, so her (English) husband's obsession with the great game perhaps has left her somewhat bewildered. To be fair he is also a Cardiff City fan so I am sure ...
Routes To Reading: Little Readers’ Day Out, Bristol
Now for something very close to my heart, reading with the children. My favourite time of the day with the kids is reading them their bedtime story. Little Miss is currently enjoying 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and The boy is OBSESSED with all things 'Mr Men.' For me books have always been a huge part of my life. To be able to escape into another world for a few hours can be so thrilling, so relaxing, so terrifying and so delightful and something that I want both of my children to be able to enjoy for themselves. Mr B and I have read to both children, nightly, from a very young age and ...
Are We Nearly There Yet?
"A child can ask questions that a wise man cannot answer." - Unknown. Are we nearly there yet? Just five little words. Those five little words that will fill anyone who has traveled with a small child in tow with a sense of dread, plus an added dose of despondency. I used to love flying. Mr B and I pre-kids have enjoyed flights to New York, (Visiting the Big Apple was one of my favourite trips.) to Canada, to Alaska and beyond. I loved everything about it. A cheeky glass of wine in the airport bar. Leisurely browsing through the duty-free fragrances. Eagerly devouring the ...
