Beyond Happiness: A Tale of Two Births
It has been an eventful few days. Some of my FB followers will know that my last few weeks of pregnancy were a little on the stressful side. Having been diagnosed with polyhydramnios at 32 weeks, a condition in which too much amniotic fluid has been produced, my baby then turned sideways. My consultant was extremely concerned that should my waters break early, which is very common with this condition, the likelihood was that the cord would prolapse, denying my baby of vital oxygen, and making it a race against time to get her out safely. On top of which no reason could be found for the ...

Happy 4th July! Plus a little bit of Quilting.
With baby number two due today, 4th July, I decided to have a go at making a 4th July/Independence Day quilt. Unfortunately, like my 4th July baby, it is not quite ready yet. This is how far I have got...with the quilting that is: For this quilt I have used a selection of red, white and blue charm packs and am following the instructions in my beginners quilting series here. Now, I am aware that quilts are not recommended for babies under the age of one so, once finished, I plan to add a few teething rings, mirrors etc and use it as a play-mat initially. I will update here when ...
Product Review: Bubble Guppies Toys Review
W has been a very lucky little lad this last month. He was recently sent a lovely selection of Fisher Price toys from their 'Bubble Guppies' range. The Bubble Guppies were not something I had been aware of but have since learnt that they have a children's TV show on Nick Junior. Being Fisher price though I was pretty sure that they would be of good quality and that we would be happy to try them out. I was not wrong. We were very excited when the following selection arrived: The Bubble Guppies 'Fintastic Guitar' was a huge hit and without doubt his favourite toy. It plays a range ...
Mondays Parenting Pin it Party #7
Hello again folks and welcome to another fantabulous pin-it party. I am delighted to be hosting again this week as it means that I get to share with you my two favourite entries from last week. My first was this lovely post, 'What Not To Do When Travelling With Young Children' by Catch a Single Thought. A hilarious tale of the family car journey to France with a 2 and 4 year old that will have you nodding along and giggling your socks off. I defy you not to relate to this one. My second choice is 'Are You A #Mummy?' by More 4 Mums. Another post I can really relate to highlighting ...
Patience
"Patience, n. A minor form of despair, disguised as a virtue." Ambrose Bierce Patience is something I currently possess in very limited quantities. Quite unreasonably really. Baby number two is not even due until 4th July but somehow I had figured it would be here already. And I feel a bit cheated. I have hit that end-stage of pregnancy where I have had enough. I am sick...a lot. I am mahoosive. I am ridiculously hormonal and daren't watch anything remotely serious for fear of the floods of tears that will follow. I bawled my eyes out at Question Time last week. ...
