Hola peepers! Hope that you have been out enjoying the sunshine. Luckily the rain held off and the sun came out in Birmingham on Sunday, just in time for the lovely Cat from Yellow Days and myself to haul our sorry arses around the 5K Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK. HUGE thanks to those of you that sponsored us, it really is appreciated, and should anyone else wish to donate a few pence our just giving page is still open. It really was a great day and will be posting more about that soon. Meanwhile, it is Wednesday is it not so on with the game! This week we are ...

Blog Gem: B is for Bottom
In the run-up to my blog-o-versary here is my second blog gem. This is a post that I wrote as part of the A-Z Bloggers challenge earlier this year. It was early on so I hadn't run out of steam then... Dear Bottom, I feel that our relationship has changed of late. We used to be so good together. I knew that you had my back. But now, I feel like you are growing away from me. Slowly but surely. And as you grow from strength to strength I feel smaller in comparison. I feel like I am having to carry the weight of this burden. We weren’t always like this. Perhaps I ...
#ISpy #2: I spy with my little eye something beginning with c.
Hola spyers! Hope we all had a great weekend? Mr B and I had a fantabulous Saturday down in 'that London' watching my absolute hero Mr Bruce Springsteen. Rain notwithstanding a really great time was had by all with a very special thanks to @GeographyMrI and soon-to-be Mrs@GeographyMrI. So, on with this weeks game. I think I have a tough one for you but you guys are just too damn smart so who knows. "I spy with my little eye something beginning with c." Please join in via the magical linky-list below and do show the others some love too. Next week we will be playing... "I spy ...
Lost Voice
Today I lost my voice. Not entirely. I know where it is. It just doesn't want to come out easily, not without a great deal of croaking coaxing. It may have something to do with spending most of Saturday standing outside in the rain awaiting the arrival of Mr Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park. So yes it was definitely worth it. Anyway, since losing said voice it made me realise something. I talk A LOT. Really I talk LOADS and LOADS. And it is really frustrating that now I can't do it very well. Or without it hurting. It was suggested by one of my favourite fellow bloggers that ...
Blog Gem: Let them eat cake, or just a boatload of Petits Filous?
So, it is getting rather close to my blog-o-versary. Almost ONE WHOLE YEAR on from my very first dip into blog-land. So, I have decided that over the next two weeks I may re-visit some of my favourite posts, and some that may not be the cheeriest but were important to me. This is my first 'Blog Gem'. (I must state here that this idea has been whole-heartedly and utterly thieved from one of my favourite bloggers, the wonderful Kate Takes Five. I am hoping she won't mind too much *smiles sweetly and passes the vino...*). This is from a very long time ago when W was still rather ...

Mum of One Will Race for Life: Cancer Research UK
Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer. Every TWO minutes. As long as it takes to boil the kettle. For the lucky ones those minutes might mean a cup of tea. For the unlucky, the unthinkable. Cancer Research UK are continually striving to prevent, diagnose and treat all forms of cancer, and they have saved millions of lives. But they need our help. They need funding. Race for Life is the UK’s biggest fight against cancer and the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. Since Race for Life started in 1994, an incredible six million participants have ...
Prize Draw: Win beautiful, personalised children’s garments from Pip’s Garden
It is competition time again and for this month's Prize Draw I have a real treat for you. This month I am giving away, to three lucky readers, a beautiful, personalised child's garment from the wonderful online company Pip's Garden. Pip's Garden was started just two years ago, by Pip and Lucy, two ladies who wanted to prove that it was entirely possible to set up a company run by two full-time mums. Together they have created a range of unique, luxury quality baby garments and a range of 5* hotel-quality bedding and towelling, ALL with the option of being personalised by YOU, the ...
Grandmotherly Love
To say that W has become quite attached to his Granny (Gaga) and Grandad (Dadad) in the last month would be somewhat of an understatement. The delight on his face when they arrived to babysit this Friday was just awesome. His smile was a mile wide and his eyes twinkled with glee. Mr B and myself may also have had a bit of a grin surfacing as it meant we could... ...wait for it... Go out! Really out. Requiring a TAXI out no less. But not just that... ...Go out together! Whoop! We did. It was awesome. It hurt a LOT the next day. But the most fun ...
