Sorry for the delay in this weeks game folks. Better late then never eh? So, this week we are playing... "I spy with my little eye something beginning with D." Mine is an easy one again but was pleased with how it turned out. Had to brave being hissed at by a VERY scary swan to get it. *Shudders* To link up with your own please click on the magical linky list below and don't forget to pop by and show the others some love too. Absent Parenting
Today I feel like a very much absent parent. I went to work today. Yep it is Saturday but needs must. The grandparents kindly stepped in to look after W. I came home. I was greeted by much excitement and a walking boy. I had missed his first steps. Because I was at work. I am heartbroken. And angry. Angry at myself for not being there. Angry at my husband...for things that are mostly beyond his control so that is not fair. Angry at the grandparents for not just lying to me, putting him to bed at his bedtime instead of waiting up to show me, and letting me think ...

Self-hosting…
We have done it folks! Well a very clever Wordpress bod has done it, and Mum of One is now self-hosted. *Unclenches jaw* Phew. Whoop! Hurrah! Kinda looks the same from here doesn't it? That is a good thing. Behind the scenes it is all looking a wee bit different though so my apologies if you notice the odd glitch in the next week or so. I also appear to maybe have lost a few e-mail subscribers in the transfer so if any of you are not getting my posts in your inbox, you should be able to re-subscribe top-right-ish. Over there look *points*. Right, am off ...
Overheard: In a bar
This happened. For real. In a rather lovely, bit swish, hotel bar. Early evening. Drunk Guy: You look a bit like that one from Blur Waiter: *Politely* Which one Sir? Drunk Guy: The one that looks like you. That's the easiest way to remember it. Waiter: The one who... Drunk Guy: *Interrupts* Like Peter Crouch. You look like Peter Crouch. Waiter: Oh. I'm a bit offended. Drunk Guy's Girlfriend: *Slurs* But you've got a really, really fit wife. Waiter: Except, I haven't. I am not Peter. I don't have a wife. I am eighteen. Drunk Guy: Yeah, you look like ...
Biting the Bullet…and jaw-ache
So, tomorrow is the day we are moving to a self-hosted domain readers. And I am, quite frankly, bricking it. What if it all gets messed up? What if nothing works right and it all looks really rubbish? Do I really have the necessary knowledge to go self-hosted? Probably not. But, on the other hand I knew NOWT about computers before starting this blog and I have bumbled along picking up bits as I go. So why move? Well, ideally it would be nice to perhaps earn just a little bit of money while doing something I enjoy so much. Recently I appear to have hit the radar of a few PR ...
Stress
I am stressed out. Signs that I am stressed include the following... Jaw-ache. TICK. I have been unconsciously grinding my teeth. A whole lot. Mouth ulcers. TICK TICK TICK Pervasive smell of bleach. TICK. OCD tendancy in full flight. Bathroom is spotless. I am, however, not entirely sure why I am stressed. This happens not too infrequently. And I know it will pass. But for now...my mouth, and mouth-bones, really hurt. But my house is clean. Silver-linings. The blog is scheduled to move to a self-hosted domain on Thursday. Maybe that is what it is. I am a bit ...
Jobs…
It struck me today that I am perhaps not as enlightened and independent a female as I may have thought. Today a job arose. A pretty simple job to be fair, but one that I instinctively ran away shrank from. We are in the process of reclaiming transforming our back garden. It has been somewhat neglected for over a year and the neighbourhood cats visit way more often than we do, the weeds are approaching the skyline and we may very well soon require a machete to get to the back gate. So, the solution...dig up the lawn. It appeared a good idea at the time since I went a bit mental with ...
