Now here is one to cheer us all up... We like to talk things through me and the boy. We discuss all sorts. The recession, the state of the NHS, who is most likely to win this years Strictly Come Dancing. Here is one of our loftier debates... The boy is clearly a genius. Other Mum of One Posts that may make you smile: Let them eat cake...or just a boatload of Petits Filous? Ode to a new mum. ...

A year on…and NOW I can’t cope?
I have thought about writing this post a lot. I have even dreamt about it. It is a huge thing for me and believe it or not I am in tears already. And I still have no idea if I will publish this or not. Maybe this one is just for me. My beautiful, hilarious, perfect boy will be one in two weeks time. This milestone has been looming towards me with an ever increasing intensity day by day. People keep asking if we are going to have a party. Who with? I have lost regular contact with all my friends. Much of this is my fault. We moved, I don't drive, but someone did invent trains. ...
Mix-tape Monday #4: A song from the best gig you have ever been to
Linking up with Boo and Me again for Mix-tape Monday. I am lucky enough to have been to lots of gigs and a fair few festivals. But for this entry it had to be something special. I was lucky enough to see Janis Ian play at the teeny-tiny Warwick Arts Centre with my folks, and this song moved the whole crowd to tears... To check out the rest of this weeks entries head on over to see Boo... ...

Listography: Cartoon characters from your youth.
I am joining in again with Kate this week for another Listography. We are going back to our youth again this week recalling our top five cartoon characters. 1. Number one for me would have to be Danger Mouse. He's the greatest secret agent in the world don't you know! Along with his lovingly daft hampster sidekick Penfold, he is given his missions from his commander in chief, Colonel K, a walrus, and will invariably save the world. Image via www.dangermouse.org He's the best. He's the greatest. He's the greatest secret agent in the world! He's the ace, he's amazing. He's the ...

Warning: Mother-Ranting.
Do you remember the days when supermarket shopping was, if not necessarily enjoyable, tolerable because you had a) time and b) money? Having a baby put an end to that straight away. However, todays little venture was quite possibly the worst supermarket trip yet. I hate hate hate going to this particular supermarket at the best of times as it is always stupidly busy, full of rude and often smelly people, a disproportionate amount of which are in those super-charged mobility scooters which clearly gives them right of way at ALL times. However, we have guests for dinner tonight and it is ...
Top five ways to keep your man happy this Christmas.
RELAX MUM, I am not turning the blog all x-rated, deep breaths, there you go. No, we are talking gifts here people. Man gifts. If, like me, you struggle every year to find interesting, amusing gifts for himself indoors, and find the 'FOR HIM' catalogue section full of gifts that don't really seem appropriate for anyone under the age of 80 with their faculties intact, never fear. I am here to help. I have decided to put together a list of the top five gifts Mr B received over the last twelve months in the hope of giving you some inspiration for this years shopping frenzy. They are ...
This week baby I promise…
Well last week I promised to go easy on the trick-teaching and concentrate on the playing. I did. But the high-five is still going strong... Hope that you all got along ok with yours. Will be popping around later to have a good nose. So, time for this week's promise. Earlier in the week W went on strike at mealtimes and stubbornly refused to let me feed him. It then occurred to me that had I been fed basically just many variations of stew for a month I might refuse to eat anymore too. This week baby I promise to cook you more colourful food, with different textures, to stop mashing it ...
