Happy Monday lovely pinners. It is time for another Parenting Pin It Party and this week I am hosting, hurrah! We had a fantastic fifty-one entries last week so narrowing it down to just two of my favourites was really not easy. After much deliberation I finally settled on these two. If you did not get a chance to read them, please do. They will not disappoint. The first is some home-schooling at it's finest. I also cannot resist a bit of cardboard-box crafting. Here Lemon Lime Adventures show how to plan, and then construct, an entire city from cardboard. It really is ...

Super Simple Valentine’s Card With The Cricut Mini
I was recently sent a Cricut Mini for review and, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided it might be time to give it a whirl and to make Mr B a sweet, but simple, Valentine's card. I often struggle to find suitable cards for Mr B. They are either, too soppy, not soppy enough, not funny enough or just a bit, well....twee. So I decided it was time to get my craft on. I must confess that initially I encountered several problems trying to log in to the Cricut Mini Software that I had downloaded to my Mac. Unsure if it was my fault, which I felt may be entirely possible, ...
Prize Draw: Win Three Gorgeous Bibs From Funky Giraffe
Little Miss E was recently sent a truly fantastic selection of bandana-style dribble bibs from Funky Giraffe. We used these types of bibs endlessly when W was smaller but, I must confess, his were nowhere near as cool as these! Funky Giraffe was started by Yasmin Drury, whose background in fashion is immediately apparent in the cool designs, during her maternity leave. Not only has great attention been paid to style but also to comfort and practicality. The back of these bibs are lined with fleece which helps to keep even the most proficient dribblers dry. They fit comfortably ...
The Pros and Cons of Owning a House
One of the biggest decisions that you will make in life is whether or not to buy your own home. Like most things in life, there are both advantages and disadvantages to owning a home. The decision is made even more difficult with today’s unsteady housing market. Everyone has heard the horror stories of how the bottom dropped out of the housing market and people were left with a debt greater than the resale value of their home. Conversely, we have also heard the stories of housing investments that have created a huge net profit for home owners. A good way to make this very important decision ...

The Top Ten Parenting Skills That I Never Thought I Would Develop
People say that your life changes forever when you become a parent. It is true. And the parenting skills that you develop are beyond your wildest imaginings quite frankly astonishing. Below is my list of the top ten parenting skills that I never dreamed I would have but that show me, beyond any doubt, that I'm a parent. The ability to eat, and chop food, one-handed. The other will invariably be either holding or restraining the baby or toddler respectively. The ability to not even notice that the CD has been stuck and repeating the same line of a song several hundred times. Mere ...
DIY Dad and the Decorating Disaster
I began the new year setting out some fairly straightforward resolutions and am pleased to say that I have started off fairly well. Mr B and I managed to avoid opening a bottle of wine until the weekend and we completed four sessions of Insanity so, although I have not yet stepped on the scales, I am feeling hopeful that the dreaded flab will be somewhat diminished. Today we managed to pick up some brand new pillows so I plan to pop out and get some protectors tomorrow and we can finally be rid of our stinky old ones. With my birthday not too far away new bedding is now at the top of my ...

We were recently very lucky to receive a delectable meat hamper from Country Valley Foods which you can read all about here.
