I was recently asked if I would like to review a photo-canvas from www.photo-canvas.com. Mr B and I had actually been thinking for some time now that we should really do something with some of our honeymoon photos so we were delighted when this opportunity arose. Photo-canvases are becoming an increasingly popular way of displaying digital photos and at www.photo-canvas.com your picture is printed on a woven canvas which is then hand-stretched over a strong, anti-warping frame. It took me a while to decide on which photo to send them but eventually I decided on this one. This shot ...
Trunki: A fun suitcase for children
We were delighted earlier this summer when we were asked to review a Trunki suitcase for Idealo. They kindly sent W a Green T-Rex Trunki suitcase for use over the summer holidays. For those who have yet to see them the Trunki is a small colourful suitcase designed specifically for children. Each has a fun design, in our case a dinosaur. It has fast become one of his favoured posessions and has imaginatively been nick-named Rex. So far we have taken Rex on trips to stay with both grandparents and actually played with it a great deal at home too pulling it along, and riding on it across, the ...
Davina for Next: The conclusion…again!
Oops! Well after feeling all sad last week that the Davina for Next bloggers challenge was over, apparantly there was no need. As it wasn't! I was a week early and it actually ends now. Apologies. So, this IS my FINAL official Davina for Next post, promise, although as I am using the stuff on a regular basis it may well pop up here and there in the future. Actually, I am rather pleased that I get to write one more as I finally got my grubby little paws on the MAGIC PUMPS! They arrived last week and I have been putting them through their paces, pardon the pun. I have so far ...
Davina for Next: The conclusion
Honestly folks, I feel quite sad writing this, my final review post of the Davina for Next gear. I was a little unsure about writing sponsored/paid/compensated posts on the blog but I was quite genuinely selfishly smitten with the idea of being given this stuff to review and was just THRILLED to get picked. However, I was determined to do it honestly. And I have. So here it comes. After four weeks of pretty thorough testing, my final thoughts... The Davina for Next Vest: I love it. It takes a little wriggling to get into but, once in, there will be no wardrobe malfunctions ...
Davina for Next: Week Three Update
Goodness, we are already into the third week of the bloggers "Get fit with Davina for Next" four week challenge and, amazingly, I feel like I am really hitting my stride now. At the start of the month I was really not sure how much, if at all, my fitness habits would change, but receiving the lovely Davina for Next gear really gave me the incentive to give it a go and now I am actually starting to enjoy it....MOST of the time. Last weeks efforts consisted of... WEDS: 5.3K run with Pam. Mercifully it was a flat route but sadly there was no Monty with us so although there were no ...
Davina for Next: Progress (of sorts) Report
Ok, time for an update. I know you have all been waiting with bated breath for news of Sunday's run with the uber-fit Pam (#possiblyslightlydelusional) so I shall make you wait no longer. *Anticipates yelps of delight*... *Watches tumbleweed*... Well I'm going to update you anyway. So, I was ready and waiting at 10am, feeling pretty snazzy in my new Davina for Next gear. Have finally got to grips with the elastic laces on the trainers by the way, but think I would probably still prefer normal ones. 10:10 the doorbell rings. And there is barking. Barking? It would appear ...
Day Zero Project: 57. Read a Mills and Boon Novel. TICK
Wow. This has to be one of my favourite tasks so far. How did I manage to get the age of, *Ahem*, this age WITHOUT READING ONE OF THESE? For this particular task I chose the spectacularly titled 'Cinderella's Wedding Wish' by Jessica Hart. Can you guess the plot line yet? In brief, Plain-Jane, who never gets noticed alongside her two glam sisters, goes to work. Handsome mega-billionaire boss begins to notice her. Could love blossom? Too bloody right it could. Lovely. It is not just the language in this book that is fabulous in it's frivolity but the NAMES! The NAMES are ...
Eeeney-Weaney-Miney-Mo: Stage 1
Weaning. Without doubt my favourite phase with Baby W so far. He just looked so delighted with himself on starting solid food. W seemed to be ready to wean from about 4 months old. He would stare longingly at my food and had begun to start waking in the night, something he, mercifully, had not done often from about 8 weeks. So he was ready. But was I? Seems strange looking back but I remember being absolutely terrified. There appeared to be 2 main weaning strategies. Either beginning with puréed food or baby led weaning (BLW). BLW basically means allowing your child to feed ...
