Regular readers of my blog will know that I have had a pretty-much-constant battle with my weight since the birth of the boy.  (Just search fitness, weight-loss or baby-weight on this site to see how much.)  Prior to being pregnant that first time I had been somewhat of a skinny-minnie most of my life.  Which I liked.  Post pregnancy I have struggled to get anywhere close. This chicken pilau is really tasty and really filling and at just 455 calories per serving it is perfect for the 5:2 diet. I am finding more and more with this diet that it is easier for me to go almost the whole day without eating much at all, perhaps the occasional breadstick or two, and then having a decent evening meal than trying to split my 500 calorie allowance between lunch and dinner. Despite only losing 1lb last week I am really starting to enjoy the 5:2 diet and almost find myself looking forward to fast days.  Weird eh? Today's recipe has been a huge hit with both me and Mr B and last night we actually found ourselves getting quite full before we had even finished.   It is now week two of my 5:2 diet and I am once again relying on a soup recipe of my Mum's to get me through lunch.  This week I am having this delicious courgette-curry soup. Desperate to lose some of the baby-weight I have recently embarked on the 30 day shred once again. Whilst it feels great to be exercising again I am not too happy with the rate of weight loss. Patience is not a particular strength of mine. Not being one to let any new diet or exercise fad pass me by I have decided to give the 5:2 diet a go. Shortly before the birth of Little Miss E I was asked if I would like to review the new Fitbug Air. To be honest I thought it was just a simple pedometer but I figured, post birth and mahoosive with baby-weight, anything that may encourage me to exercise a bit HAD to be a good thing. Well, the poor delivery man got the shock of his life when I sprung, panther-like, from behind the front door screaming "GIMME GIMME GIMME!"  Ok, so it wasn't quite that bad but I was EXTREMELY excited this week to receive my get-fit-kit, courtesy of Davina for Next.  It felt like Christmas all over again as I ripped open the packaging and squealed with delight.
