Belly-busting in style: Davina for Next

January 11, 2012 By jbmumofone 14 Comments

Well, the poor delivery man got the shock of his life when I sprung, panther-like, from behind the front door screaming “GIMME GIMME GIMME!”  Ok, so it wasn’t quite that bad but I was EXTREMELY excited this week to receive my get-fit-kit, courtesy of Davina for Next.  It felt like Christmas all over again as I ripped open the packaging and squealed with delight.

First to appear was the Davina for Next pink racer-back vest.  I wriggled out of my PJs and into this immediately.  I had worried that the colour may be a little garish but it is actually quite an orangey-pink and I really love it.  She was also not kidding when she said it would provide plenty of support in the boob area.  You may have to throw a few shapes getting into it but once you’re in they will definitely stay put.  Excellent.

Next came the Davina for Next white sports trainers.  Off with the slippers and on they went too.  So far pretty comfy!  I have only tried them around the house so far as I want to break them in a bit before running in them so will keep you posted on that.  They look just gorgeous though.  They actually have a slightly sparkly silver-trim which gives them a really nice girly feel and I love that the pink trim and stitching matches the pink of the racer-back vest exactly.  I don’t think I have ever felt quite so co-ordinated when exercising before!  The only thing I am yet to be fully convinced by is the lack of proper laces.  I have never had trainers with this elastic pull-tie before so will let you know once I have tested them properly.  I guess the advantage is that they can’t come undone mid-run.

Due to a slight stock delay I am unable to review the technical joggers and will instead be reviewing the Davina for Next pink-stripe capri pants.  They are due to arrive later today so I plan to do my first run, fully kitted out tomorrow and will tell you all about it next time.

Also, sadly, there is a stock delay with the MAGIC PUMPS.  (AKA the Davina for Next snake effect ballerina pumps.)  However, as soon as I get my paws on them I will be giving them a go too.  Hopefully in the next few weeks when I will try them out walking to and from work.

So, initial reactions to my first few Davina for Next items are extremely good.  They appear to be well thought out, stylish and comfortable.  For more information on any of the above simply click on the image.

Now, on to my aims for the week.  Well this morning I received the following fitness tips from the lady herself.

I hope to have completed 1, 2 and 3 by next week.

Along with this I will also be attempting to have done an excercise DVD workout at least three times, and to have done a minimum of 50 sit-ups each day.

Gosh, am exhausted just thinking about it.

Wish me luck!

Thanks honey! I know what you mean. I toyed with the idea of a Zumba class before Xmas but didn’t really have anything to wear. Maybe I will give it a go now. And am even ALMOST looking forward to a run! ALMOST 😉

    Hello fellow Davina blogger!
I have the trainers too (in grey) & I wore them all day around the house & thought they were sooo comfortable. I even went to my first Zumba class yesterday – if I can do it anyone can, you should give it a go, I was extremely surprised how much I enjoyed it!
I like the sound of the supporting vest – I wish I’d got one of those now – perfect for all that shaking around at Zumba!!
Look forward to reading how it all goes for you

    Hello fellow Davina blogger 🙂
I absolutely love the racer back sports vest! I don’t know about you but I feel like they make my boobs look really huge?! Is that just me? I love the trainers too but I agree they feel weird without laces!
