Happy Monday lovely pinners and welcome to this weeks' parenting pin it party. This is not just any pin it party either, it is our very first birthday! So, a very happy birthday to all of us, *blows out candles, scoffs cake*, and a huge thank you to all of you that have joined in over the last year. This last year has brought together some of the most amazing posts from crafts to recipes to laughs and even family tales that have reduced me to tears. This variety is the thing I really love about the linky and each week I am amazed at the quality of the posts linking up. Last week was ...
Guest Post: Why Spring Is A Time For Family
With the weather improving and green shoots of life are starting to spring up all over our gardens and landscapes, the signs that spring is here are definitely visible. Spring is a great time of the year for families and here we look at some of the reasons why. Green shoots and working for tomorrow. It was William Blake who once called England a ‘green and pleasant land’ and this is no more clearly illustrated than in spring. Blossoms burst forth bringing the bees, lambs frolic in verdant fields and our humble gardens are ready to grow produce to take us well into the long, balmy days of ...
Recipe: Cod and Chorizo Stew #MorrisonsMum
Anyone on twitter or Instagram this weekend will have noticed #MorrisonsMum cropping up all over the place. Morrisons, in conjunction with Britmums, asked a whole load of us bloggers to check out their local store and come up with something tasty for the bank holiday. So, on Monday, we headed into Morrisons Cardiff and this is what we found: The 'Market Street' fruit and veg are kept really fresh by these wonderful cold mist jets. The boy was absolutely fascinated by them. The baby got a bit cold. The range of fish and seafood on offer was impressive and Mr B was delighted. We picked ...
Prize Draw: Win a Special Father’s Day Gift From My 1st Years
With Father's Day on the horizon, (Sunday June 15th folks.) I am hosting a giveaway with something for the Dads for a change. My 1st Years have a range of personalised gifts for Dad and I chose the following for Mr B. For as long as I have known him Mr B has never worn a shirt without cufflinks, has always worn a watch and has never used a wallet but always a money clip for his notes and bank cards. His current one is in rather a shabby state. This silver plated money clip is available at My 1st years for £18 and can be engraved with up to 16 characters at no extra cost and is the ...
Dinosaur Roar!
As my regular readers will know we love all things dino at Casa B, so when asked if we wanted to review a new app inspired by the iconic picture book 'Dinosaur Roar!' it was a no-brainer. This picture book, by Paul and Henrietta Strickland, was first published in 1994 and Random House have recently released a special 20th anniversary edition. The app is aimed at 2-4 year olds and incorporates different storytelling functions, one of which is narrated by different children and is our favourite. It also includes a colouring game that the boy really likes, and a ...
Center Parcs May Challenge: The Great Outdoors
For this month's challenge Center Parcs are asking us all to get out and about in the great outdoors. This could not have come at a better time having spent all day yesterday cooped up inside awaiting a delivery which failed to arrive. As those of you who have ever been trapped inside with a toddler all day can imagine, yesterday was a LONG day. So, this morning, with the sun shining down we headed straight for the local park. Here is what we saw. (WARNING: Picture heavy post ahead!). Over at the Center Parcs' blog Rich has left some tips for enjoying the great ...
April 2014 Review: This Month We Love…
We have received a mixed selection of items for review over the last month and on the whole have been pleased with them all. The boy was delighted with our first item, an Imaginext Alpha Explorer from Fisher Price. The Imaginext Alpha Explorer is a toy space shuttle and landing station, with accompanying astronaut, designed for children aged 3-8. There is plenty of fine-motor skill practice to be had with platforms that twist and raise, plastic 'lasers' to fire, and fuel gauges that spin. The shuttle can be detached from the station and various pieces ...
Dear Blog…
Dear Blog, I have not been a very good owner of late and have been neglecting you I know. I have been thinking about you lots though, promise. Mostly at 3am. I do worry though that if I were talk to you then it may end up being cited in divorce proceedings. But I thought I should let you know that, although neglected, you are not forgotten. There have been several reasons for my absence. The first is Insanity. In a desperate attempt to regain my pre-baby body, *snorts*, I have been LITERALLY working my butt off, several nights a week. A few months in I am delighted to say I am ...
