Happy Monday lovely pinners. It is time for another Parenting Pin It Party and this week I am hosting, hurrah! We had a fantastic fifty-one entries last week so narrowing it down to just two of my favourites was really not easy. After much deliberation I finally settled on these two. If you did not get a chance to read them, please do. They will not disappoint. The first is some home-schooling at it's finest. I also cannot resist a bit of cardboard-box crafting. Here Lemon Lime Adventures show how to plan, and then construct, an entire city from cardboard. It really is ...
Super Simple Valentine’s Card With The Cricut Mini
I was recently sent a Cricut Mini for review and, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided it might be time to give it a whirl and to make Mr B a sweet, but simple, Valentine's card. I often struggle to find suitable cards for Mr B. They are either, too soppy, not soppy enough, not funny enough or just a bit, well....twee. So I decided it was time to get my craft on. I must confess that initially I encountered several problems trying to log in to the Cricut Mini Software that I had downloaded to my Mac. Unsure if it was my fault, which I felt may be entirely possible, ...
Prize Draw: Win Three Gorgeous Bibs From Funky Giraffe
Little Miss E was recently sent a truly fantastic selection of bandana-style dribble bibs from Funky Giraffe. We used these types of bibs endlessly when W was smaller but, I must confess, his were nowhere near as cool as these! Funky Giraffe was started by Yasmin Drury, whose background in fashion is immediately apparent in the cool designs, during her maternity leave. Not only has great attention been paid to style but also to comfort and practicality. The back of these bibs are lined with fleece which helps to keep even the most proficient dribblers dry. They fit comfortably ...
The Top Ten Parenting Skills That I Never Thought I Would Develop
People say that your life changes forever when you become a parent. It is true. And the parenting skills that you develop are beyond your wildest imaginings quite frankly astonishing. Below is my list of the top ten parenting skills that I never dreamed I would have but that show me, beyond any doubt, that I'm a parent. The ability to eat, and chop food, one-handed. The other will invariably be either holding or restraining the baby or toddler respectively. The ability to not even notice that the CD has been stuck and repeating the same line of a song several hundred times. Mere ...
DIY Dad and the Decorating Disaster
I began the new year setting out some fairly straightforward resolutions and am pleased to say that I have started off fairly well. Mr B and I managed to avoid opening a bottle of wine until the weekend and we completed four sessions of Insanity so, although I have not yet stepped on the scales, I am feeling hopeful that the dreaded flab will be somewhat diminished. Today we managed to pick up some brand new pillows so I plan to pop out and get some protectors tomorrow and we can finally be rid of our stinky old ones. With my birthday not too far away new bedding is now at the top of my ...
Sausage and Mustard Meatball Pasta With Help From Country Valley Foods
We were recently very lucky to receive a delectable meat hamper from Country Valley Foods which you can read all about here. There I posted about the extremely delicious Poulet Saute that we made from their sumptuous chicken breasts and, today, I am sharing the most brilliant recipe for sausages that we found in The Observer. We used their fantastic Riverside thick cut pork sausages and it was to die for. To have a go yourself, here is what to do: Sausage and Mustard Meatball Pasta 450g good quality sausages 500ml beef stock 250ml double cream 1 tbsp ...
Sherlock Holmes and The Case of the Drunken Strippers
It was with great excitement last weekend that we all travelled back to my folks in Stratford Upon Avon as it was the last chance to spend some time with my sister, her husband and my two gorgeous nephews before they returned to Canada. We had a great day. The kids played wildly. My Mum made an awesome Xmas dinner, far better than my somewhat pathetic attempt on Xmas day. We drank some fine wine, some fizz, pulled some crackers, and generally had a lovely time. The boy was ecstatic to have his cousins to play with and my smallest nephew simply doted on Little ...
Top Three Gifts To Make Him Smile This Valentine’s Day
Valentine's Day is fast approaching once more so this year I am rounding up my top three recommendations for a Valentines gift that is sure to put a smile on his face. The first is from one of my favourite website finds of the year, The Rockpot. Here you can buy the work of artist Christophe Gowans, who blogs at ceegworld.com. His Record Books are truly stunning where he has created beautiful designs of how he envisages the book-cover for many famous albums would have looked had they been books instead. Below are two of my favourites. These are all available to buy on the ...

Out with the old…
At the beginning of the new year I am once again in resolution mode. I fear my resolutions are pretty much the same each year but I guess now is as good a time as any to make a list. So for 2014 this is my plan: Out with the old... Time to shed the baby-weight. I am not doing too badly as am now only half a stone away from my weight prior to getting pregnant with Little Miss but, ideally, I would like to get back to my weight prior to being pregnant with the boy. I am an extra stone away from that. I am really, strangely, enjoying the Insanity workout though and aim to continue ...
