I was lucky enough to recently be sent some samples of the wonderful product range from Breathease. As my regular readers will have gathered I can often display some obsessive-compulsive type behaviour when it comes to cleaning. Let me loose in the cleaning products aisle of the supermarket and it is like all my Christmas' come at once. I even asked for a steam mop for Valentine's day. Sad, I know, but true. Anyhow, I was delighted to try out this particular line of products as they are perfect for my household in more ways than one. Mr B suffers with quite bad allergies and his skin ...
Toddling Through Autumn
Mummy... Why have the trees turned brown? Why are the leaves on the ground? Can I kick them? Mummy… Why are the mornings so dark? Has the sun gone to bed? Can I go too? Mummy… Where have the flowers gone? Are they hiding? Can I hide? Mummy… Is that a squirrel in the wood? Where is he going? Can I chase him? Mummy… Has the summer gone now? Is it on holiday? Can I go? Mummy… What’s a conker? Can I have one? Ouch. Mummy… Where does rain come from? Can I jump in that puddle? I like puddles. Mummy… Can I wear my wellies to the park? Can I wear them to bed? I like ...
Green Bottle Xmas Tree Craft
I recently up-cycled a green glass bottle into a rather pretty vase. The more I looked at it though the more it made me think of Christmas. I decided to have another go, this time making some Christmas trees which could be used as festive decorations. I began by painting a few old corks green. While these dried I set about decorating my bottles, labels having been soaked off, with gems, securing each with craft glue. Finally I cut out some cardboard stars, added some glitter for a bit of Christmas sparkle, and attached these to the corks with a cocktail stick and cellotape. Finally, I ...
Mondays Parenting Pin It Party #25
Whoop whoop party pinners, it is time for another parenting pin it party and this week I am hosting, hooray! I know we are a little bit earlier than scheduled but due to immovable commitments tomorrow I decided to get this party started today! I shall, of course, be checking and pinning throughout the week as usual though. This week I get to choose my two favourite posts linked up to last weeks party. It was not easy but I have finally decided on these two fantastic entries. The first is a lovely little tale from Ma Puce who tells us how her love for shoes began. It is a really sweet ...
5:2 Diet: Delicious Chicken Pilau
This chicken pilau is really tasty and really filling and at just 455 calories per serving it is perfect for the 5:2 diet. I am finding more and more with this diet that it is easier for me to go almost the whole day without eating much at all, perhaps the occasional breadstick or two, and then having a decent evening meal than trying to split my 500 calorie allowance between lunch and dinner. If you are the same then this is definitely one to try. This recipes makes two servings. You will need: 6 sprays of 1 cal cooking spray 2 skinless chicken breasts, approx 150g each, ...
Toddler Craft: Super Simple Christmas Cards
This craft is great fun with toddlers and it is so simple to do. The boy, having overcome his initial fear, is still loving to paint and his favourite painty tool is cotton wool balls. We recently made these super cute Halloween Monster Cards and I thought perhaps it was time we thought about Christmas. I know, I know, I literally start the countdown in October! So, we decided to make some Christmas Cards and discovered cotton wool was perfect for splodging out some Christmas trees! Simply splodge out your tree shape with some green paint on a white card. Next add some adhesive gems ...
Snuffling, Snuggling and Sneezing at Casa B
Little Miss has a cold. This is having a huge impact on my, already rather large, sleep deficit. At the moment she still sleeps in her Moses basket alongside our bed after her 10:30 feed and we are super lucky in that she is a great sleeper. Or was...until she got a cold. It seems to build up in her chest throughout the night and it is generally around 3-4am that the snuffling begins. Inordinately loud snuffling accompanied by the rustling of the basket sheets as she shuffles about. At which point I tend to bring her into our bed for a cuddle and am generally able to prop her up ...

Product Review: Pampers New Baby Sensitive Nappies
We were recently sent a supply of Pampers New Baby Sensitive nappies to try out with Little Miss E and we were DELIGHTED. In the early days with the boy we experimented with various different brands of nappy but eventually settled on Pampers. When Little Miss E arrived we, again, had a load of vouchers for various brands so tried a mixture to use them up. Now if there is one thing Little Miss excels at it is filling her nappy...and then some. As poor old Granny has discovered to her peril. The first time we brought both children back to my hometown of Stratford upon Avon my Mum very ...
Children Need Support After Natural Disasters
The following is brought to you by Plan UK. It is NOT a sponsored post. Children Need Support After Natural Disasters A natural disaster is a truly devastating event and it will have a significant effect on all members of a community, but especially the children. Young people need security in their lives in order to feel safe and when their community is torn apart by the effects of a natural disaster, this security disappears. The adult role models in their lives will likely be traumatised and stressed out after the event, which will make it more difficult for children to feel safe. ...
