I am joining in with Ranty Friday over at Her Magnificence Mummy Barrow's blog today. I am not sure of the rules? Are there rules? I think it is perhaps just a good excuse for us all to collectively have a bit of a rant. That I can do. Having just spent half of the morning in front of C-Beebies, unsurprisingly perhaps, my ranty levels are at an all time high. So here you have it. My first Ranty Friday. My subject matter.......kids TV presenters. Let me start with Mister Maker. For the uninitiated amongst us, (Oh, how I envy you.) Mister Maker is a ...

Win a selection box of delicious Byron Bay Cookies
Seriously, is there anything better than a cup of tea or glass of milk and a cookie when you get home from school/work/shopping/the gym? How about a cup of tea or glass of milk and a MASSIVE cookie, oh yes! I was recently asked to try out a rather scrummy selection of cookies from the Byron Bay Cookie Company and, being pregnant and thankfully therefore not dieting, and craving milk like there is no tomorrow, how could I refuse them? That would just be mean. *Rubs hands with glee*. I nearly snatched the postman's hands off when my selection box arrived, and was delighted to discover ...
Treat Your Valentine with Baker Days

Baker Days are an online company making personalised cakes for any occasion, and with Valentines Day getting ever closer, what could be nicer than a sweet and scrummy cake delivered ...
Kiddy Consumerism or Motherly Love?
Hattie Garlick, writing in yesterdays Telegraph, has vowed that she will not be spending a single penny on her two year old son in 2013. Interestingly she made this decision prior to being made redundant and finances I imagine becoming more tightly stretched. My initial incredulousness reduced slightly as she laid out her plan: Clothes will come only from swaps with friends or bundles from free-cycle. Toys the same. Little Garlick will be getting no rice cakes this year and apparently will only be consuming portions of the three meals eaten by his parents. Haircuts will be done at ...
This Old House…
"What was that?" Mr B enquires. "Mmm." "No really Jen what was that noise?" "Just next door I expect." I reply whilst unable to tear myself away from a fabulous new discovery on Pinterest. "I'll go and look." Now I feel bad as, to be fair, he has been at work all day while W and I have had a great time making cakes and rolling about on the lounge floor playing trains and laughing at with Mr Maker. I follow. We look about the kitchen as if it is an alien landscape. He reaches for the cupboard door, looking nervously back over his shoulder at me first. I nod in what I ...
