Over the last month here at Casa B we have been putting the Samsung Safeview video baby monitor through its paces. The timing could not have been better as W has not long been out of his cot and sleeping in his 'big boy bed' which did lead to several late night escapes for freedom and we were getting a little weary of repeatedly walking him back to his room. In view of this there are several features on this monitor which I really do love: The 3.5" LCD screen which, during the lunchtime sleep and early evening, provides a great crisp image of his bed and the camera can be ...

Product Review: This month we love…
This month we have been putting a few different products to the test. Here is what we thought... First we were sent these lovely, non-toxic, cleaning products from Method. As my friends and family will already know I am a bit of a clean-freak and get stupidly excited about stuff like this. The first thing I loved about these though was the simple clean packaging. They look really quite stylish and even better, the packaging is all 100% recycled. My absolute favourite thing though was the fragrance of each product. They all smell delicious. We were sent lavender handwash, ylang ylang ...

Painty Toddler Fun: Cotton-bud painting
The toddler is finally over his fear of paints and we are now having lots of painty toddler fun. It has taken a while for us to get here and it has been achieved by painting with lots of different materials from around the house. So far we have painted with pom poms, potatoes, marshmallows, toilet rolls and cotton wool. This week we tried painting with cotton-buds. W really enjoyed himself and got stuck straight in! First he used the buds like a brush making sweeping strokes, and then discovered he could make lots of lovely spots by simply dabbing them. For more crafty ...
Walk Fat Girl Walk. Trialling The New Fitbug Air.
Shortly before the birth of Little Miss E I was asked if I would like to review the new Fitbug Air. To be honest I thought it was just a simple pedometer but I figured, post birth and mahoosive with baby-weight, anything that may encourage me to exercise a bit HAD to be a good thing. Last week, five weeks post baby, I decided that it was time to get off my now-rather-large-bottom, throw away the Dairy Milks, and give it a go. The Fitbug Air looks just like a small pedometer which clips easily to your waistband. Looks, however are deceiving. This thing does so much more than ...

Painty Toddler Fun: Cotton Wool Painting
Painting with your toddler can be such a lot of fun and W and I have enjoyed experimenting using lots of bits and pieces from around the house to paint with. So far we have tried painting with potatoes, toilet rolls and even pom poms. It had been a while since we had done any painting so this week we had fun painting with cotton wool balls. We found that we could make lots of nice splodgy shapes and prints. For more fun and crafty ideas of things to do with your toddler why not check out my page and pinterest board? ...
Toddler Craft: Paper Bag Puppets
This toddler craft of paper bag puppets is something any toddler will enjoy and is so simple to do. This week was the first time I had been on my own with both the toddler and the baby and this was a great activity that allowed me to have a bit of indoor fun with W while the baby slept. I actually bought the supplies as a boxed set from my local Aldi but they could easily be assembled from odd bits and pieces left over from other craft projects. To make these paper bag puppets you will need: Paper Bags Craft Glue Glue spreaders A selection of materials to decorate which ...
Mondays Parenting Pin it Party #13
Welcome lovely pinners to the 13th parenting pin it party and it is my turn to host, HOORAY! So here are my two favourite posts from last weeks party. First was actually a late entry so some of you may have missed it. The awesome Actually Mummy shared some sage advice with her daughter on how to deal with 'Mean Girls'. She talks a lot of sense and some of us would do well to take this on board. You can find this here. Second was a lovely bit of science from the Happy Hooligans. They looked at water displacement with a helping hand from their friendly turtle. You can find this ...
