One of the resolutions at Casa B this year was to try and be a bit more money conscious, and live a little more frugally. One thing that we have found hugely helpful in achieving this is meal-planning. Every Sunday Mr B and I will have a look at what is left in the fridge, or the freezer, and then plan our meals for the week. This has become even more helpful of late since, now heavily into the grips of our Insanity fitness plan, some nights we need to make sure that our meals are quick and simple to prepare so that we are not eating too late, or eating anything too heavy that we won't ...
Toddler Craft: Super Simple St Patrick’s Day Cards
With St Patrick's Day approaching I thought it might be nice for the boy to make a simple St Patrick's Day card for his Irish Grandparents. It had been a while since we got out the paints so we decided to go back to one of our favourite, and simple, toddler crafts: cotton wool painting. To make this card all you will need is: White card Green paint Googley eyes Green pen One keen toddler Once you have all your materials ready help your toddler to splodge out four green shapes with the cotton wool, roughly the shape of a clover leaf. Once dry, with a green ...

Time Passes
They say time passes when you're having fun. I can't say that I have been having fun EXACTLY this morning, but it is certainly passing very quickly. You see I have found myself with a, so-rare-I-feared-it-was-almost-becoming-actually-endangered, child-free day. "No children?" I hear you gasp. No. Children. And no work! Now please don't get me wrong. I do love them dearly and I do love being with them, obviously. But, often, I do find myself dreaming of days like this. Only now I have one, I have absolutely NO IDEA what to do. So flummoxed am I that I had to resort to ...

Blogger’s Block
Blogger's block. I am currently in the midst of a severe case. The worst case, in fact, since I began this blog almost three years ago now. There have been periods before where I have struggled to come up with new ideas, and times that I have questioned whether or not I should continue, but at the moment I am just feeling kind of....blank. Totally. Blank. In fact. I thought perhaps a Silent Sunday or Gallery post might help, but you guys probably get enough of that kind of stuff on Instagram and The Almighty Book of Faces right? Blogs are to be read, no? Except this ...

A Survival Guide To Driving With Kids
So, you thought getting out of the house was tricky with kids? You have already packed a million and one things for just two nights away. You have defied the laws of physics and somehow managed to squeeze both the bouncy-chair AND the buggy into the boot. The kids have been wrestled into their car seats and, belts having finally been retrieved from toddlers mouths, beneath bottoms or detached from coat-linings snagging fabric along the way, (delete as applicable), they are actually strapped in too. Now you are faced with a two and a half hour journey, traffic allowing, just you, ...
