5:2 Diet: Delicious Chicken and Spinach Curry
Despite only losing 1lb last week I am really starting to enjoy the 5:2 diet and almost find myself looking forward to fast days. Weird eh? Today's recipe has been a huge hit with both me and Mr B and last night we actually found ourselves getting quite full before we had even finished. I found this one on a really useful 5:2 app that I have been using which you can find here. 1 tbsp vegetable oil 4 chicken breasts, halved lengthways 1 onion, thinly sliced 2 garlic cloves, chopped 1 green chilli, chopped 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp ...
Let Us Tell You A Story: Part 8
Did you ever play consequences as a child? You write a line of a story, fold it so that it is hidden, pass it to a friend and they write a line and so on. Finally you piece it altogether and see what you have created. Well this is kind of, a little bit, no, not really at all, like that. The fantabulous Laura from Tired Mummy of Two challenged a group of bloggers to collectively come up with a story. She began our tale here, and each day another blogger takes up the literary baton. One of my favourite bloggers, Stacey from Five's a Fellowship, left us on a complete cliffhanger ...
Mondays Parenting Pin It Party #19
Whoop whoop party pinners, it is time for another parenting pin it party and this week I am hosting, hooray! This means I get to choose my two favourite posts linked up to last weeks party. It was not easy but I have finally decided on these two wonderful entries. The first is a lovely little porky pie from Ma Puce over at Mother, Wife, Me. It looks like poor old Cinderella is barefoot again. Pop on over to find out why. The second is a super-cute toilet roll craft from The Gingerbread House, just in time for Halloween. So a huge thank you to our featured pinners. We do hope ...
Review: Mr Men, My Complete Collection
We were very lucky to have recently been sent the complete collection of Mr Men books for review. I have very fond memories of these as a child and W is already showing a great love for them too. They really are timeless. The collection contains 47 Mr Men books, all numbered on the spine so that you can easily locate your favourites as required. This also provides a great opportunity for some counting practice with the toddler. The only trouble is deciding on whose favourite we read each night. Below are mine, Mr B's and W's favourites so far. Bet you can't guess whose is ...
5:2 Diet: Pork, Courgette and Mushroom Stew
One of the things that I am really loving about the 5:2 diet is that it is making me revisit some old recipes. I am also coming to realise that low fat food can actually be super tasty. For tonight's dinner I have prepared an old Weightwatchers recipe that I managed to dig out. Here is what you will need: 350g pork tenderloin or fillet cut into strips 1 large onion, chopped 400g chopped tomatoes 150ml red wine 1 tbsp tomato puree 150ml vegetable stock 1 tsp herbes ...

How to Make a Cardboard Box Car
This cardboard box car was so very easy to make and made the toddler so very happy. I had been saving the box for a while intending to do something with it. Eventually Mr B kind of insisted that I did as my pile of accumulated rubbish craft supplies was reaching momentous proportions and threatening to take over the dining room completely. This week I finally decided to turn this cardboard box into a car for the boy and here is how to do it: Take one large cardboard box... Cut off the two longest side flaps and one shorter end-flap, retaining the fourth end-flap. Fold this ...
