The boy is now at the age that we are beginning to consider sleep-overs with friends. I must confess that I am a little bit nervous about it, more so than him. He has only ever stayed with his grandparents without us previously, which are totally familiar surroundings. I worry that he will wake in the night and not know where he is, I dread the thought of him wanting me, or Daddy, and not being able to find us. Oh why do they have to grow up? I have decided that before we embark on his first proper night away from us to let him get a little familiar with his ...
Monday Parenting Pin It Party #99
Happy Monday folks. I am hosting this week's parenting pin it party *shakes maracas* so come on in, grab a glass of vino and let's get started. First, here are my two favourites from last weeks party. I definitely want to try and make these gorgeous Dragon Eggs and Hodge Podge Craft have a wonderful tutorial on how to do it. I also really want to try to make theses super cute bumble bees from Nemcsok Farms. How sweet are they? So a huge thank you to our two featured pinners. Do feel free to grab yourself a badge. <div ...
WIN a Scrumptious Scrambled Egg From Hotel Chocolat
"It's all about the eggs, the eggs, the eggs, no bacon..." Yep that's right folks, Easter is nearly upon us and just look what the postie brought me today! The lovely folk at Hotel Chocolat sent me this package of deliciousness from their Easter Eggs and Gifts range. Oh the irony of this arriving just as I finish cooking up batch after batch of low-fat, high fibre soups for the week. I know, I know, I know I am meant to be on a diet and fitness mission. Shhh! I know. But Easter calories don't count right? Hope not as I am NOT ...
Review: Extend Dishrack from Joseph Joseph
I confess that am a huge fan of Joseph Joseph products. Their utensils and tableware have a certain unique style and I love their trademark bold lime-green colour. When I was asked if I would like to review the new Extend dish rack for them I jumped at the chance. Not just because I love their products, but also because our drainage board tends to look like this most of the time... We don't currently have a dishwasher and there is simply never enough space in one rack to let everything drain so we have resorted to adding an absorbable mat alongside, and I worry this is ...

Spring Fashion For Boys
So, following on from last month's post which was all about the girls, as promised this month we will be taking a look at some Spring/Summer fashion for the boys. This is a market which many designers are now beginning to realise the true potential value of. 2013 saw Burberry's sales increase significantly following the first foray into modelling by a young Romeo Beckham, and with his elder brother Brooklyn rarely out of the spotlight boys' fashion is grabbing more of the markets attention. As with the mini-female-fashionistas, trends for this year's spring summer ...
The Seasonal Playground – Garden Activities for Kids and Parents in Spring
The following is a guest post written by Josephine Barlow. Josephine is a mother of three. When the kids have gone to bed, she likes to unwind with a glass of wine and a good novel. Here she shares some great ideas of how to keep the kids amused and make the most of the upcoming spring sunshine... I spend most of my time at my desk in the office, so when I'm home with the family at the weekend, I like to get outside as much as possible. If I can't go far, or if budgets don't quite stretch to a trip to the zoo or the cinema, I'm desperate to get the kids out in the fresh air ...
#VanishGoldForWhites: The Results Are In
As part of the Vanish Bloggers' Club I was sent a pot of the new Vanish Gold For Whites Powder to try out. I was sent a deliberately discoloured Karen Millen shirt to see if this product would be able to restore it to it's former glory. I really hoped so, it would have been a really nice shirt, if not so horribly grey. To be honest I didn't hold out much hope. To achieve three shades whiter whites Vanish recommend two possible methods. Method One: Add one scoop of Vanish Gold For Whites powder to 4L of warm water and soak for a maximum of six hours. ...
Monday Parenting Pin It Party #96
This week our party is being hosted by the awesome Carolin from Mummy Alarm. It would be lovely if you would pop by and see who she has chosen as her featured pinners from last week's awesome lot. If you are new to the party, it is very lovely to have you here and, if you wish to join in, here is what to do: 1. Link up one, or more, of your own parenting/family posts. You can link either the post itself or a pinterest pin, whichever you prefer. Each entry will be pinned to the Monday Parenting Pin-It Party board on Pinterest. 2. Follow the Monday Parenting ...
What’s mine is mine…MINE!
So yesterday was a fun day, of sorts. Yesterday was one of now, since the big move, relatively few days that was just me and the kids. In Bristol I had these days down. Full on routine. Breakfast, park, Aldi, lunch, sleep, craft/bake, cafe, tea, Daddy home, bed. We all knew where we were and we were like a well-oiled, family-machine...most days. Since the move I seem to have lost my lone-parenting rhythm. Yesterday especially. Faced with a totally rain-laden sky our options for the day pretty much halved. And we needed milk. Stat. Knowing full ...
