When WOW recently asked me if The Boy and I wished to review one of their toys I must confess that I had not heard of them before. After just two minutes browsing their website though I could not accept fast enough. The designs on show were super cute and their major focus is that none of their toys require any batteries. Yep, NO BATTERIES. If you have kids of your own I am sure you will understand the huge wave of relief those two simple words can create. Loving all-things-dinosaur at Casa B we could not resist the Dino-Adventure set and eagerly awaited it's arrival. However, upon ...
Delicious Poulet Saute Recipe With Help From Country Valley Foods
When I was recently asked if I would like to review a Premium Meat Hamper from Country Valley Foods Mr B had the laptop out of my hands and was typing a hasty 'YES YES YES' before I even had a chance to blink. I think he feels that, finally, all my time spent beavering on the laptop has become worthwhile! Country Valley are a family business, first established in 1971, based in the North East and are now a premier supplier of top quality meat, poultry, game and delicatessen products and, even better, they deliver! To say that we were a little bit delighted when the foam-lined ...
This month we love…plus Babar giveaway
We have been a little bit spoilt again this month with some lovely items to review. First is this lovely framed canvas from Snapbox UK. This really does stand out from other canvas prints as it is encased within a beautiful wood frame with a black enamel finish. It can therefore be displayed free-standing, unusual for a canvas, but also comes with a suitable hook for wall-hanging if desired. The Snapbox website could not have been easier to use and you can even upload your photos straight from your mobile. There are a range of effects to choose from including both black and white ...
Product Review: This Month We Love…
This month our review is all about the girl. Little Miss E has been super spoilt with some really lovely things. First, we were sent a lovely personalised baby book from Penwizard. The website was super easy to use. I simply uploaded my favourite photo of Little Miss E and here she is on the front page! Below which I added a personal message. Mine says "To my beautiful baby girl, with love from Mummy." Each pagespread contains a lovely message on one side and, on the opposite side, a picture of a teddy with Little Miss' name in there somewhere. I think this would ...
Walk Fat Girl Walk. Trialling The New Fitbug Air.
Shortly before the birth of Little Miss E I was asked if I would like to review the new Fitbug Air. To be honest I thought it was just a simple pedometer but I figured, post birth and mahoosive with baby-weight, anything that may encourage me to exercise a bit HAD to be a good thing. Last week, five weeks post baby, I decided that it was time to get off my now-rather-large-bottom, throw away the Dairy Milks, and give it a go. The Fitbug Air looks just like a small pedometer which clips easily to your waistband. Looks, however are deceiving. This thing does so much more than ...
Product Review: Bubble Guppies Toys Review
W has been a very lucky little lad this last month. He was recently sent a lovely selection of Fisher Price toys from their 'Bubble Guppies' range. The Bubble Guppies were not something I had been aware of but have since learnt that they have a children's TV show on Nick Junior. Being Fisher price though I was pretty sure that they would be of good quality and that we would be happy to try them out. I was not wrong. We were very excited when the following selection arrived: The Bubble Guppies 'Fintastic Guitar' was a huge hit and without doubt his favourite toy. It plays a range ...
Product Review: Miffy Wooden Puzzle
We were very lucky this week to be sent a 10 piece Miffy wooden puzzle for review. I have such fond memories of Miffy books as a child and we have recently started to read W 'Miffy and the new baby' in preparation for the arrival of baby number two in July. He was so delighted when we opened up the package and recognised Miffy and her Mummy straight away. It is strange, there is something so charming about wooden toys for children. Perhaps just the fact that you know they will last forever, but with this one it seemed more than that. It may be the slightly retro bright colours ...
My New Favourite Boots: The Gershwin Boot from UGG Australia
I have long been a fan of UGG boots and have owned several pairs of both classic and classic tall boots in various colours. When I was asked if I would like to review a pair for myself or a pair for the boy I jumped at the chance... for myself... Bad Mummy! (I reasoned that he would grow out of his SO quickly it would hardly be worth it, ahem.) When I had a little browse around the website I was amazed at the range of boots they had on offer. As I said I am very familiar with their classic style but they do so many other types as well. You can see for yourself here. It took ...
Prize Draw: New Tetley Estate Selection Tea
The lovely folks at Tetley recently sent me a box of their new Estate Selection tea to try. I was delighted. Who doesn't love a good cup of tea? We are already daily Tetley Tea drinkers at Casa B but it is our regular tea. Our first thing in the morning, just got home from work, just fancy a quick sit down regular-tea. When we want something a bit fancier Mr B will whip out the Earl Grey although personally I sometimes find it a little too perfumey. I have found this new Estate Selection Tea to be the perfect compromise. It has just a slightly more floral taste than regular Tetley, ...
Product review: Magical Fun With Tree Fu Tom: Tree Fu Magic!
We were recently sent this six-episode DVD of Tree Fu Tom for review. I must confess it was not something W had watched much of prior to being sent this disc but it has fast become one of his favourite shows. Tom appears to be a normal eight year old boy but when he puts on his magic belt and performs a special sequence of movements, (that is the tree-fu bit) he transforms into a tiny but might little superhero. This DVD covers six of his adventures in the magical world of Treetopolis with his friends and, when help is needed, Tom can perform his tree-fu to summon up the magical ...
