I haven't posted much recently. It's not that there isn't stuff going on in my life, or life in general, it's just that what is going on is massively hard to articulate and not all of it is mine to share. Writing about the Syrian refugee crisis I was finding massively difficult. There just aren't enough of the right words, or there are, I just can't put them together coherently. Getting involved with the Save The Children appeal was for me a no brainer. ANYTHING that helps has to be good and if my little corner of the internet can contribute then go us. The ...
Monday parenting Pin It Party #121
Happy monday folks and hope you all had a lovely weekend. This week I am happy to be hosting another monday #pinitparty. I do hope that you will come join us this week and link up any family/parenting/craft/recipe posts you might want to share. They don't even need to be recent. Perhaps show some old classic posts some love. As host I get to choose two of my favourites from last week's entries to feature. With The Boy starting school for the very first time tomorrow I could not resist featuring this super cute Back to School Bus Craft from the awesome DabblingMomma. ...
It could have been us #savesyriaschildren
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Edmund Burke For several days I have been trying to find the words to write this post. Trying and failing. We have all seen the footage, we have read the articles and the more and more awful it becomes the stronger the desire to simply look away becomes. I know it. I feel it too. Then yesterday a photo of 3 year old Aylan Kurdi emerged lying face down, drowned, dead on a Turkish beach. His family having fled the Syrian town of Kobani, then denied asylum in Canada, ...
Much Needed Help at Hand From Mum’s Office
I like to be organised. I try to be organised. I am not very organised. I do, however, keep a diary. It is the only way anything in my life that is meant to happen will actually happen. If it's written in the diary it is THE LAW. If it ain't in, it ain't happening. Sadly this once meant due to a minor entry error I turned up for a flight a day late because that is what the diary said, and who am I to argue? My diary is also pretty big. It is, oh Lord this sounds so nineties, a filofax if you will. Lately however it is not quite big enough. You ...

Happy Monday lovely pinners. This week I am proud to be hosting another monday #pinitparty. I do hope that you will come join us this week and link up any family/parenting/craft/recipe posts you might want to share. They don't even need to be recent. Take the Stress OUT of Travelling With Kids
With the school summer holidays underway many of us will be looking forward to their family holiday abroad. Whilst the kids happily count off the number of sleeps until they board the plane some parents, like me, may be developing amongst all the usual feelings of excitement a minor undercurrent of dread. UTTER DREAD. At the thought of how we are ACTUALLY going to get there... happily... ...with all of us still alive/speaking to each other/unharmed at our destination of choice. Those of you who read this post will understand exactly where I am coming from. Well, I am ...
Relax dude, we’re on holiday…
Having embarked upon our last trip of the year Mr B and I were very much hoping for a couple of days of relaxation. We have deserted our Devon homeland in favour of his Brother’s Tuscan retreat to drink nice wine, soak up some sun and gorge ourselves on Italian deliciousness. What could be more relaxing? Oh yeah, that’s right. We’re travelling with the smalls. Two super tired kids who have steadfastly refused to either sleep or eat since we upped sticks 36 hours ago do not a relaxing holiday make. We had hoped our stay in an airport hotel the night before may improve their ...
Clean and Lean: Spicy Cod Stew
The following recipe has become a midweek staple meal here at Casa B. If you are not a fan of fish this recipe also works very well with chicken but would require more cooking with the chicken pieces being added to the pan at the very start. For more healthy recipe ideas why not follow me on pinterest? Follow jbmumofone's board Clean and Lean Diet Recipes on Pinterest. ...
Anchors Away With Melijoe.com
With summer in full swing I do love a bit of nautical fashion, even more so since moving so near to the coast. At the moment the hope of owning our own boat is a distant dream but something we are aiming to achieve in the future. With this in mind, it is important to look the part, no? I already own far too many Breton tops, six at the last count, but what about the smalls? Here are my favourite nautical picks for The Boy this year. Little Marcel, striped jersey top with hood, £31.00 I love this beautiful striped jersey top, perfect for the cooler summer ...
Clean and Lean: Sweet Chilli Turkey Balls
Now that we are back to daily workouts the increase in exercise is beginning to reflect equally in our appetites here at Casa B. I am now in the habit of making a large batch of turkey meatballs on a Sunday and Mr B and I will gradually work our way through them throughout the week, whenever we are in need of a clean, low-fat, high protein snack. Below is a batch I just made with a chilli twist. If you are not a chilli fan simply substitute the spring onion and sweet chilli sauce for some finely diced shallots and a few teaspoons of dried herbs. (Oregano, basil and thyme work ...
