This week we are playing... "I spy with my little eye something beginning with r." Please leave me your guesses below. Apologies for the brevity of this weeks post but I have a poorly little boy at the moment. Fingers crossed he will be feeling better soon. #ISpy: I spy with my little eye something beginning with q.
Oh how I dread this letter. Q. What sort of letter is Q? Nothing begins with Q. At least nothing within spitting distance. So I must apologise for my incredibly lame and highly edited entry, though I wish I had more of this particular q, then perhaps I would feel more warmly towards its alphabetical stature. I am hoping some of the other entries are more inspired. Actually, scratch that, I am hoping there will be at least one other entry! Enough moaning. On with the game! "I spy with my little eye something beginning with Q." I am hoping there may be ...

How to make a dinosaur-hoodie in just three easy steps
As some of you may know I have been going a little sewing-crazy of late. I am still not very good at it but I am really enjoying making fun stuff for W. It all started when I saw this post on Pinterest and I knew I just had to give it a go, and I was amazed at how simple it was to transform a simple top into a super-cute dinosaur hoodie in just three easy steps. First I bought a simple hoodie from Tesco for just £4. I also bought a few felt squares, mine happened to be 30 x 30 cm. Then I began the transformation! 1. Fold your felt squares in half and iron along the crease. Along one ...
Reasons To Be Cheerful
This is my first time joining in with this particular meme but you know what, I am actually feeling pretty cheerful so thought I would share some happiness rather than my usual angst/gloom/can't-believe-I-just-did-that-I-am-such-a-rubbish-mum-ness. So here are my reasons to be cheerful this week. 1. Crafty Crafty I have just bought my first ever sewing machine and I am loving it. Now I am not generally the domesticated type but now W is getting bigger I am finding that I want to do more and more craft activities with him, especially when the weather isn't great. Sewing is honestly ...
Quick and Easy Halloween Treats for Busy Mums
With Halloween just around the corner I have been on the hunt for some quick and simple Halloween treats for when the neighbours and their children pop by. As a busy working Mum I really don't have much time for baking or anything too fiddly so below are some of the simplest Halloween treats I could come up with. White Chocolate Ghouls These spooky treats come from the wonderful A Mummy Too, simply with the addition of two milk chocolate drops for eyes. Simply melt 100g of white chocolate drops in a bowl. Cut half a loaf of Soreen into ...

Halloween Craft for Toddlers
Pinterest is chock-a-block with wonderful Halloween ideas at the moment and when I stumbled across this post I decided to get crafty myself. Since W is only a toddler he is not really big enough to get involved with pumpkin carving yet, so this felt pumpkin seemed to be a great way to involve him in the Halloween fun. As I currently have my Mother-in-laws sewing machine on loan I decided to see what I could cobble together. It turned out to actually be pretty simple. Cut out two identical pumpkin shapes from felt squares. I chose orange and ...
Product Review: Philips Avent DECT Baby Monitor
When my old baby monitors gave up the ghost after 18 months I was delighted when Philips kindly offered to send me a new set to review. Now some of my regular readers may have had a little giggle at the somewhat, let's say retro-appearance when I posted this shot of the old ones... ...so I was delighted when the parcel arrived and I unpacked these. They look somewhat more modern don't you think? The other truly delightful thing was that they were ready to use. We simply plugged in the baby unit and we were good to go. We have now used them for over a month and here are the best ...
