So I am now onto level two of the 30 day shred. I managed to complete level one ten times in total over a two-week period. Two days were missed due to work commitments and two due to sheer laziness other things. My legs were in absolute agony for the first three days and even walking up and down the stairs was like torture. Then, around about day five it stopped hurting. By day seven I was even beginning to enjoy it hate it slightly less. By day ten I was completing level one and rather than feeling sick and dizzy I actually still had some beans left and was feeling great. I figured ...
30 Day Shred: Belly-busting time again
I simply cannot resist a new exercise fad. Correction, I simply cannot resist a new exercise fad for brief periods of time until I: a)get tired, b)lose interest, c)decide wine and chocolate and collapsing on the sofa is a preferable way to spend half an hour. Pick at will. They have all applied at one time or another. This is perhaps how I have ended up where I am now. Nine and a half stone. Some of you may think that doesn't sound too bad. But I am only just 5'3" standing REALLY straight. That image of a slightly flabby oompa-loompa forming, that's about right. I am RUBBISH at ...
Service…
It is perhaps a bit of a shame that good service has now become so rare in this country that, when it does actually occur, it feels like such a special moment rather than the norm. However, I was on the receiving end of SPECTACULARLY GOOD SERVICE earlier this week. Don't get too excited miscreants, I was buying new runners. I desperately needed new runners, or at least advice on the footwear front, as have recently been suffering a huge amount of shin pain post-run. I was back home with the folks and they recommended a small, family run store in the town of Warwick. On arrival we ...
Davina for Next: The conclusion…again!
Oops! Well after feeling all sad last week that the Davina for Next bloggers challenge was over, apparantly there was no need. As it wasn't! I was a week early and it actually ends now. Apologies. So, this IS my FINAL official Davina for Next post, promise, although as I am using the stuff on a regular basis it may well pop up here and there in the future. Actually, I am rather pleased that I get to write one more as I finally got my grubby little paws on the MAGIC PUMPS! They arrived last week and I have been putting them through their paces, pardon the pun. I have so far ...
Davina for Next: The conclusion
Honestly folks, I feel quite sad writing this, my final review post of the Davina for Next gear. I was a little unsure about writing sponsored/paid/compensated posts on the blog but I was quite genuinely selfishly smitten with the idea of being given this stuff to review and was just THRILLED to get picked. However, I was determined to do it honestly. And I have. So here it comes. After four weeks of pretty thorough testing, my final thoughts... The Davina for Next Vest: I love it. It takes a little wriggling to get into but, once in, there will be no wardrobe malfunctions ...
Davina for Next: Week Three Update
Goodness, we are already into the third week of the bloggers "Get fit with Davina for Next" four week challenge and, amazingly, I feel like I am really hitting my stride now. At the start of the month I was really not sure how much, if at all, my fitness habits would change, but receiving the lovely Davina for Next gear really gave me the incentive to give it a go and now I am actually starting to enjoy it....MOST of the time. Last weeks efforts consisted of... WEDS: 5.3K run with Pam. Mercifully it was a flat route but sadly there was no Monty with us so although there were no ...
Davina for Next: Mum of One hits the road
Ok, so it would seem that the fates are conspiring for me to get fit this year. First, the wonderful folks at Next gave me the lovely Davina for Next gear to try out. Then, the two people I know who actually HATE RUNNING MORE THAN ME, namely my lovely mum and the wonderful Cat from Yellow Days, BOTH suggested running the Race for Life with me. This is on my Day Zero Project list to do again so am keen to get it ticked off involved. Then, yesterday, my lovely friend Pam who used to drag me out running in order to get me in shape for my wedding, but sadly moved away shortly after, is ...
Belly-busting in style: Davina for Next
Well, the poor delivery man got the shock of his life when I sprung, panther-like, from behind the front door screaming "GIMME GIMME GIMME!" Ok, so it wasn't quite that bad but I was EXTREMELY excited this week to receive my get-fit-kit, courtesy of Davina for Next. It felt like Christmas all over again as I ripped open the packaging and squealed with delight. First to appear was the Davina for Next pink racer-back vest. I wriggled out of my PJs and into this immediately. I had worried that the colour may be a little garish but it is actually quite an orangey-pink and I really love it. ...
Belly-busting time again, with a helping hand from Davina for Next.
I have very exciting news ladies, oh yes. Exercise is about to get easier, and prettier than ever before in 2012 as the lovely Davina herself has teamed up with Next to help us on our way with her new 'Davina for Next' range. She has designed a range of fitness clothing and shoes that provide both practical, pretty and pound-busting solutions that will knock almost all of our "I can't do anything today because..." excuses right out of the park. Once again my New Years Resolution, like many Mums, is to get fitter, slimmer and more toned. I aim to be realistic here though. I KNOW that I ...
This week baby I promise…
Am hoping that you have all had a fabulous Christmas weekend. Will be popping over later to see how you all got on. Last week I promised W that I would dress him up as a Christmas Elf, and here he is... ...and, as predicted, he was a bit of a hit with the nursery staff that day! Jeez, he will never forgive me for this when he is older. So, this weeks aim. Well, having over-indulged somewhat the last few days... This week baby I promise to get us out and about more, lots of fresh air for you, and hopefully Mummy will lose a few pounds...though I suspect it is going to take more ...
